Moving GHQs in Army-by-Army mode?

Wed Nov 26, 2008 12:51 am

When playing in Army-by-Army mode, there does not appear to be a way to move the GHQ or any units that are not in an Army? In the LGG boardgame these "independent" units are moved after one side's Army activations are done, with some restrictions (can't enter combat, for one).

Am I missing something?

I'm pretty sure that, at the moment, it is recommended to use WEGO mode. "Strictly turn based movement" and "Army by Army activation" are experiencing or causing some problems.

However this may have changed with patch 1.04c

Any word on this Calvinus or Phil?

I am running the 1.0.4c beta patch and using army-by-army with no trouble (I am a diehard fan of the LGG boardgame, so I have to use army-by-army, which is the "pure" way to play).

I did find a bit of a work around: if you are going second in a turn, you can temporarily switch back to wego mode, move the GHQs, and then switch back to army-by-army mode. Doesn't work if you are moving first in a turn though, when you switch back to wego the AI ends movement without having done anything. Kind of odd.

In theory, GHQs may be moved with the main army (or anyone army indeed). But this is to be double-checked after the AI engine refactoring.
