Where oh where are my units??

Sun Nov 23, 2008 6:07 am

When units arrive as automatically placed re-inforcements at the army GHQ they simply don't appear.

I have had the message that my French colonial troops (Algerians, Morrocans etc) are arriving at a particular province, (the location of the French GHQ) but the only units I ever have there are 2 fighter squadrons.

I have even had a bomber unit arrive at GHQ as a re-informent but it also simply doesn't appear.

Normally when I get a message that a unit has arrived at a certain location there is no problem, it is right there attached to whatever army HQ is in that provence.

Is there something about GHQ that I should be doing differently or is this a bug?

Probably a bugged refresh of the map... You can try opening and closing the Options window to force the refresh of the map. I will fix it asap, sorry.

Under 1.04 I have the same "non-refresh" bug in the unit and reserve boxes when I put an unit in reserve or back to front, the affected unit counter does'nt change position until you get out of the stack and back in.

In my particular case it is something other than a non - refresh bug. the units never appear on the map at all.
But it ONLY seems to happen to units sent to the GHQ. For all units appearing as replacements at army level HQ there is no problem.

Furthermore if I attach units to GHQ manually there is no problem. It is only when they are automatically assigned to GHQ during re-inforcemnt phase.

Having this in my current AAR game (1.04b => 1.04c). I get the message that the French North African troops are placed at Vitry le Francois (where the French GHQ is), but the units aren't there.

Seems like the game doesn't like to put units into the GHQ. Maybe an easy, dirty fix would be to put them into the "to be placed by player" category instead of trying to put them with the GHQ?

Ahhh, now it's clear! Thanks! ;)
So the refresh is not done when this special events occur! Indeed I was puzzled because the coding of normal reinforcements was ok! :D
Going to fix quickly.
Thanks again!

Ok, I checked the GHQ reinforcements stuff...
I think the texts of these events are wrong or at least they generate confusion!

In fact, these events generate a scheduled reinforcement for the next turn!

That's why you do not see immediately the units! :D

So I'm going to correct the texts! ;)

No no... I'm still puzzled! I checked the texts of events, and they clearly inform you that the reinforcements will arrive in September 1914.

So I guess you are referring to another problem.

Can you post please the exact message concerning the GHQs whose content is not refreshed?

Here you go, see screenies attached. Screenshot 1 is the message I get when I receive the reinforcements. Tunisie and Algerie get the same event message.

Screenshot 2 shows the GHQ. The announced reinforcements are not there. There are no other detachments in this province.

EDIT: Now with attachments. :bonk:

It applies for the Central Powers too. None of the GHQs show these forces and yet, if the GHQ is attacked, its got a couple of corps handy. Incidentally they don't seem to show up as reserves either in battles of inferior HQs
