More Event Confusion

Tue Nov 18, 2008 10:31 pm

Ok here's what I'm trying to understand.

a) Does only the alliance recieve events or each major country. If each major county, then I can't seem to get Austrian events to display to choose from. What am I missing.

b) Why the heck are there events for the axis that help the allies? In the pool of events, I'm seen events (the tank event) that is for the allies? Why would I want to choose that or even play it? Is this a bug or ..??

c) Any advice on choosing events would be helpful. Where is there a list of all possible events?

My understanding is that the choice of events is for your SIDE (CP/Entente), and be played as needed. As to why to choose events helpful to your opponent - keeps them from getting it.

This is based on several restarts of 1.03. I plan to dive into 1.04 this evening.

In the 2 player Campaign game each side receives event chits. They are shuffled and dealt randomly. You will receive events that affect your side as well as events that affect the other side.

If you receive an event that helps the other side, this is good. If you hold it, the other side can not play it and benefit from it.

Well but they have already chosen their events prior to the axis? Who chooses first in the 1914 scenario? I'm still confused...

You can find a list of all events in the boardgame rules. You can download them here: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=11390

Each side is dealt a number of events. The ones that you receive will be different than the ones received by the other side. You each choose which events to keep and the remainder are shuffled together in preparation for the next event phase.
