Thanks for the link.
But IMHO, the review is kind of lame... i bet the guy did not play more than a couple of turns (if at all)... and probably even skipped the tutorials :innocent:
Oh and why the hell he talks about Franco?? :tournepas
Did he really mistake Napoleon with Franco?? :8o:
Well, both were short stature military guys but... :niark:
Regards!

I imagine "Franco" to be slang for "French" or "Frenchman" :)

Strategy Informer usually has short but nice reviews...and the review is positive!

And they did play the tutorials... ;)

The tutorial – chances are you’d best give it a look

"Franco" means "French". See for example the Franco-Prussian-War (http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&p=thMx..&search=Franco-Prussian).

OK, OK !! :p leure:
I know franco means french but the guy use the term in a very strange way! :bonk: As a noun, not as an adjective

Anguille, to say that about the tutorial you don't need to do them :siffle:
Look: "chances are you better give a look at (insert last RTS game here) tutorials" ...
See? ;) :niark:
Really, for what he says in the review, it could had been done just by reading the game Press Release.
For example the Out of Eight reviews use to be short, but you can see the guy has played the game... as he gives opinions about the gameplay, not just describes the characteristics (that is already on the box!)

Regards!

Yes...the small Franco = the small French guy

Of course it's possible...but i feel he's played the game well enough because he goes into various details.

Anyway...why being critical to a positive review? :siffle:

Cheers

Hey, i´m just reviewing the review :niark:
It is not that it is positive or not the game. Is that, as a review is not that great, IMHO. As many reviews around :p leure:
From some time ago i don't use reviews much to know about how good a game is.
I usually find forum opinions more informative as they are make by guys who has bought the game and are interested on it. And soon you learn to know which forum members has similar likes and dislikes that you.
Just a personal opinion :innocent:
Regards

I am not a native english speaker. But I agree with arsan. Franco was not used properly. Look at the definition here

Franco-
prefix
of or connected with France:
the Franco-German border (= the border between France and Germany)
a francophile (= someone who loves France)

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=30914&dict=CALD

And here http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary

Main Entry: Franco-
Function: combining form
Etymology: Medieval Latin, from Francus Frenchman, from Late Latin, Frank
1 : French and <Franco-American>
2 : French <Francophile>

Reading this, you can see that franco can be used as a prefix or as a part of a word, but not as a word alone

"Franco Emperors" and "short Franco" sound weird, perhaps automatic translation?

I think people are putting waaaay too much emphasis on the use of a single word. :bonk: ;)

As Anguille is saying, the review is generally positive, though I think it can have a larger appeal for non-hardcore strategy players than the reviewer does. It is a bit short; reading reviews for games I have under consideration for buying or at least checking out further, I like them to go into at least some depth, especially with regards to how it actually works as a game, in a "will it be worth my while" kind of way. This is however a lot better than the potential alternatives; "no review" and/or "bad review" ;)

I think that the name of the site is wrong too :niark:

strategyinformer?, all type of games are discussed!

Now seriously, just talking about the 6.8, not the text. I would consider this a positive review from a general gaming site, but not if it was a wargaming or a truly strategy site
