Look: "chances are you better give a look at (insert last RTS game here) tutorials" ...

Really, for what he says in the review, it could had been done just by reading the game Press Release.
For example the Out of Eight reviews use to be short, but you can see the guy has played the game... as he gives opinions about the gameplay, not just describes the characteristics (that is already on the box!)

Of course it's possible...but i feel he's played the game well enough because he goes into various details.

It is not that it is positive or not the game. Is that, as a review is not that great, IMHO. As many reviews around leure:
From some time ago i don't use reviews much to know about how good a game is.
I usually find forum opinions more informative as they are make by guys who has bought the game and are interested on it. And soon you learn to know which forum members has similar likes and dislikes that you.
Just a personal opinion

I think people are putting waaaay too much emphasis on the use of a single word.
As Anguille is saying, the review is generally positive, though I think it can have a larger appeal for non-hardcore strategy players than the reviewer does. It is a bit short; reading reviews for games I have under consideration for buying or at least checking out further, I like them to go into at least some depth, especially with regards to how it actually works as a game, in a "will it be worth my while" kind of way. This is however a lot better than the potential alternatives; "no review" and/or "bad review"
