Looks like there is an issue with the Fonts file

that the ñ which is not supported in the old engine (pre-VGN) by the font indeed...
Can you please make a test and report Picaron?
Open \WIA\GameData\Fonts.ini
when you see
Cheboygan
Cheboyga.ttf
replace it by
Verdana
(nothing)
save and see how it displays (you'll lose a bit of 'chrome' by reverting to a more modern font but hopefully all chars should be readable)
