Game hangs on turn

Thu Mar 25, 2010 9:54 pm

A pbem game I am playing hangs during the execution of the turn.

I click "next turn", the master file is loaded, and one of my units stance is changed. Then the "waiting" circle (this is Vista) is replaced by the WIA pointer, and nothing happens. I can move the pointer around, and the music keeps playing. After some time windows tells me the program does not respond (if I wait that long, ctr-alt-del shows me the same).

Tried it several time, with different stances and move orders for the unit in question - result stays the same.

Updated to the 1.06 interim 3 patch (we are playing under the 1.06 version) as that was suggested to Caranorn for the same problem. No luck.

attached the backups 1 and 2 and the current turn files.

Turn executes OK with 1.06e, available here:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=16450

Unfortunately, we really don't have time or resources to 'go back' to an earlier version when we already have a fix in place [albeit as public beta]

One common issue under 1.06 was the 'loading a ship while enemy present in region'
If either of you was loading troops onto a ship, please try setting 'evasive move' for both troops and ship.

In any case:
Attached is completed turn executed under 1.06e

I'm not sure what effects 1.06e might have on your saves, but it might be worth a try to save copy of your saved game and try 1.06e :)
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Thanks Lodi.

I must have missed this interim update, I only found the 3th one. Wasn't expecting you to go back to previous versions :) .
