WIA won't start in vista

Since my desktop has died, I thought I'd give WIA a go on my laptop, which is running Vista 32 bit. However, after installing the game and the latest patch (1.04c), I'm unable to start the game. Windows simply gives me a message saying that WIA.exe has stopped working.

Does anyone know what might cause this?

Sorry for doubleposting, but I think I found the problem. Before installing the game, I downloaded and installed a bunch of windows updates, including an updated sound driver. The installation of the sound driver failed, however, but apparantly it deleted the old driver before failing, leaving me without sound. I hadn't noticed this when I tried running WIA.

Installing a new sound driver helped, though, and WIA starts without problems now.

Welcome back to WIA!

The "mod" is actually a stealthy look at probable changes for the next patch. Some are rather significant. They are, to the best of our knowledge, CTD bug free , but need playing time for 'balance and effect".

Your choice, of course. Mod and "vanilla" are both supported
