I havent bought this game, but it looks really interesting...
I have a few questions I hope someone can answer.... before I buy BoA2.
The first is .... Does the game have a complete campaign... like for example can you start out as The United States in 1776, fight the British, end the war with them, and play the game during peacetime?
Second is ... About the Tactical battles... is it the same as BoA or can you actually control units during tactical engagements?

Hi Jean, and welcome to the forums 
There are indeed several campaigns; you can fight the whole American War of Independence, or e.g. the full French and Indian War or the War of 1812 if you like. However, there isn't a "peacetime campaign"; once the wars end, so do the campaigns.
As for battles; you have the same amount of control as you did in BoA

With a slight enhancement: In addition to the same 4 postures of BoA, you also have ROE, where you can adjust the 'tenacity' of the posture you choose...

- Fallen Timber (1791-1794) War between British settlers and Native nations (Delaware and Shawnee) 44 turns
- The War of 1812 (1812-1815) 37 turns
- Don Bernado Galvez (1779-1781) 28 turns
+ A new version of my all-time favorite campaign
- Montcalm (1756-1758) 29 turns
+ A what-if for the French and Indian War
Still no tactical battle module as such sorry, but the rules of engagement give you a control on the behavious of your troops close to what experiences historical leaders.

More control in fact, as you get Rules of Engagments, ie each stack can have A behavior set from 'fight at all cost', to 'retreat as soon as a shot is fired', almost
