Quick question: are these two versions compatible for PBEM play?

It is a shame we lost lodilefty as he was much more knowledgeable about the system than I am.
I never applied the command fix, QF2 as I was in several games at the time and I did not see an advantage. As I beta, I have a second install with the latest beta patches, Quick Fixes which I experiment with.
The problem you see is caused by different versions. Adding the 1812 file is not big deal, but the command fix OF2 must actually changes the routine of the game.
Two solutions, you update QF2 and see if the game remains stable or have your opponent revert to the 1.10e. I think as others report some instability with the patch installed, it might be best to return to 1.10e even though this means a restart to your game and a loss of the command fix. A reinstall is not too painful if you saved the original download exe.
