Does the armed battoemen's pantooner ability has no short time benefit? ex: in single turn; 30 days ) Is it same as seaman ability that were only making a difference when in longer voyage ,multiple turns.

I would personally like to have a "roi louis" variant of the 1755 scenario. It would give massively more balanced multiplayer game!

This is a script file. So do this.
1. Unzip it
2. Copy or cut it
3. Open the file folder for the game, chase down the WIA, Scripts files
4, Drop the file into the Scripts folder.
That should do it.

You have seen the change with the same computer or did the instability happen when you changed computers? I am asking as I do not see the same instability, but others have.

Dim E510 Win XP SP3
Pent. (R) D CPU 2.8 Ghz
3 GB RAM
Radeon x600 256 MB HyperMemory

But now I'm getting multiple application issues, e.g., the game is stalling and the current scenario is now refusing to run after repeated tries.

I still have the old BoA loaded on my machine and have never had these issues.
Currently WIA 1.10e QF2
I trust my recent Java update has nothing to do with this.
Should I click on error logging?
Where do I go to resolve all this?

My guess is that the problem is in "THost.LoadHostFile Exception caught: Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier "C:\Program Files\Wars in America\WIA\Saves\1778 Full Campaign0\1778 Full Campaign.hst". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".
Are some files maybe read-only or locked by another process?
Also please try this:
uninstall the game and manually delete left over files
reinstall
install patch http://www.ageod-forum.com/downloads/WIA_Patch.zip
Try if the game works
if yes, apply QF:

I think I will have to remove both my original BoA and WiA games and then start re-install the latter under the earlier patch.
And if that works, install 1.10e and then the QF.
What do you think?
I still suspect that BoA is somehow sharing files with WiA; Has that ever happened before?

After all, WiA was meant to be an add-on to the original game.

This is virtualy impossible as WiA is completely new game. Also never install games under C:\program files... choose something like C:\games
I prefer having more partitions on the disk where C: is for programs and system, D: for games etc
Many people have experienced odd behaviour with games that were installed into C:\program files. Keep your games away from the system files!

Yes because I eventually found my original BoA game files in a Strategy First folder! I had forgotten that SF had first distributed (physical?) AGEOD games.

After WiA loaded, my machine announced that new software had been added, which didn't happen on the first install; also the temporary install folder -- which was supposed to be deleted after a successful install -- was not to be found anywhere on the HD, so that bodes well.

The tutorial works, so I will now run the game to see how it does with first smaller and then larger scenarios.

I was able to finish a smaller 24-turn scenario w/o too much trouble, but the longer and larger scenarios require more processing power, causing the engine to have an occaisonal "hiccup" and the turn must be repeated.

What are the best option settings to minimize taxing my Pentium processor?

That seems to be working well with another 24-turn scenario; when I' done, the next test will be with a larger and longer scenario, but I'm hopeful.

I'm trying to catch up on this thread - as it pertains to militia for the French & Indians in the 1755 scenario. Without the patch, the French player receives 5-6 unit of Canadian un-trained militia per year. With the patch - I've gotten three total in 5-6 years. Was this a response to the player receiving way too many militia unit in the original or is it a bug? Or should it be someplace in the middle? Thanks!
