Does anyone know which type of replacements Rangers take?

I lost one of two Ranger Companies in my Regiment and sent the Ranger back to a major city so it would get its lost company back.

Some type of replacement brought the remaining company back to full strength but I didn't get the second Ranger company after an entire year or so.

Was I doing something wrong? I think I was in York. Should I have been in a depot (or something else) in order to replace my missing company?

If you have set Attrition to "on for player" or "on for both", you must be at a depot to get replacements.

Location of depots varies by scenario. 1775 does not start with a depot in NY city

Rangers take Raider replacements. Watch out for correct faction.

Couriers, Pirates, Natives also use Raider replacements...

I doubt York was a depot, I think that was my problem.

oops! I thought you said New York.

IIRC, York has no depots unless you build them.....

Yep no depot, I checked during lunch, I am going to move him off to Philly (Definately a depot there) and see what happens.

Are Raider replacements by event only in the French and Indian War? Ive seen Indian Faction Raider replacements but no European ones?

And none seem to be available for purchase w/ EP's.

Or are they considered "Elite Infantry"?

Nope, they are Raidertype

25% chance every January to get 1 for GBR(COL)
100% chance every January to get 1 for FRA(Indian)
75% chance every April and October to get 1 for FRA(CAN)

Elite are mostly Marines in that campaign

Yep, would be nice to add an option to buy, but I need to land some other fish first. (good modding opportunity )
