Turn Times?

Tue Aug 23, 2011 4:24 pm

My turn times for WIA seem to be about 5-8 minutes. If there is a battle, it might be even longer. I was rather surprised by this as ACW is about half the time and the battle times are much shorter as well.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Charles,
Several things contribute to what you are observing. A major one is that WIA is 30 days versus 14 days for ACW. That is, WIA has 30 resolution steps, while ACW has 14.
Battle times do vary. WIA tends to have longer resolution because the forces are more similar in qualities. You will have a few ACW battles taking a really long resolution time when the forces are matched.
Over many game plays, I think you will find each turn in both games is very similar.

5 to 8 mins seems a long time for this. :(
My current computer takes only 10 about secs, my previous one on which I played WIA the most didn't take much longer, under a minute I would guess.

Wow, that's a huge difference. I don't have problems with ACW, so maybe I should do an uninstall and start over.

Good idea, as I also get 20-40 seconds max (even with 75 campaign, which has the largest number of events to process....)
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Yes, there is something very wrong if it takes 5-8 minutes! (or you are using a ZX80 :) )
I did have a problem a few years ago on an older PC where the turn would occasionally take a few minutes to process - but most turns were OK and if I restarted the PC the problem would go away for a while. I never did find out what caused that.

Cheers, Chris
