Depots and Forts

First of all what determines whether you can build either a fort or a depot?

What unit(s) do you need in the tile (or area)

Does it "consume" the unit(s) needed?

Can you build both in the same tile or area?

What seems to be the magic formula where you can build a depot in one area and not the next?

I looked around and couldn't find anything specific.

Thanks :)

You need 2 supply units (wagons/bateux/transportships) to make a depot.

To make a fort you need one artilery unit and one supply unit.

Additionaly you must control the region if there is no structure in it already or control the structure (and not be under siege I think).

What what exactly counts against the supply number in a tile?

Ships?

Leaders? (They don't really do they?)

Leaders with attached troops?

Does anything else not count towards supply?

What about Indians?

Thanks

You need 2 supply units representing 8 elements of supply train or 2 bateaux units representing 8 elements of bateaux for a depot.

For a fort, you need one supply unit with 4 elements and one gun unit with 4 elements. Any non-fixed gun will do as far as I know.

Also those units have to be in one stationary stack and you have to push the build depot/fort button.

None of the units must be locked, or in a locked stack.

Both units must be in the same stack.
