Playing 1.07 French side in 1755-63 scenario I captured Boston and get sieged by Athena. Sortie will not trigger fight, moving offensive amies back to Boston will not end the siege, afaik I am not able to end that siege, this little army stays there somewhere somehow around Boston and laughs at me.
Not that big a problem, but may be someone has an idea.

Not sure what you mean when you say that moving offensive armies back to Boston doesn't end the siege. You are moving friendly units to Boston in an offensive posture to attack the besiging units?
Sortie will only make the defending units join an attacking force coming to their relief. If there is no relieving force sortie will have no effect. If you want to attack a besiging force with the defenders you will have to move some of them out of the structure and put them into an aggressive stance.
Cheers, Chris

As you say it, whatever I do to fight them, a battle will not happen and only in Boston, may be cause Boston is so tiny an area, looks like the besieging army is situated in the water.

If your units have low cohesion, any battle will quickly abort.
Check the messages closely at turn end, you should see something about the effort.
Boston is a small region and difficult to manipulate forces. Be sure your army is outside the city (look closely at the unit panel titles) and is in attack mode.

Finally I got my fight somehow at the end.
One other thing.
If the French manage to take Halifax the English groundforce reinforcements no more show up there, that is fixed, but the merchant vessels still do and are captured by the French automatically. That could be changed in the next patch.
