FIW vers 1.06d.

a french army at chambley crossed the intervening river to attack a british force at isle aux noir.in the battle panel they suffered no penalty for the river crossing.apart from an admiral there were no sailors/marines with the french and they did not cross 'upstream' to attack overland.

i thought crossing rivers incurred combat penalties.is this WAD?

The crossing there has not been defined as a River Crossing.
Dunno why = must do a bit of research on the river....

You can check 'crossing terrain' by pressing <shift> key on any stack: the color of the 'radiating lines' gives clues as to terrain. Blue is water ;)

As for any crossing penalty, You'll only "see" it in a battle log, as an icon...

Richelieu River was not insignificant, although not navigable:

Will add crossings from regions Richelieu to Chambly and Richelieu to Isle aux Noix in final 1.06d patch :D
