Hey there. Just rammed this game in the old laptop. Anyway I must say I prefer the map to AACW. It looks a bit more simple to me but its easier to understand. Must say no trains or river transport really is annoying!! heh heh Makes you realise what luxury the Civil War Generals had! Also can you synchronise moves in this one?? I couldn't see an option. I presume divisions and corps are out of the question too!!?? :(

Hi!

Yes, WIA used a simplified command system that reflects the style of the era. So no division, no corps, no "real" armies... and off course no railroads ;)
WIA just uses normal stacks.
Another big difference: no supply forwarding! Feeding your troops on the wilderness is not and easy thing (and pushing supply carts around the forest and mountains isn't either! :D
Even if the game system is the same, WIA and AACW campaigns have a very different feeling because of the changes done on the engine to better represent the different historical situations.
A great thing IMHO

So how do I supply an army?? I have to keep moving it into city or town every so often and leaving my army there for a couple of turns to restock them?? :bonk:

The time needed to restock an army is dependent on the size of the army(Total supplies needed) and the Supply capabilities of the town (Depot present? Harbor present? What size city?) In some circumstances that could take a couple of turns (as well as to regain cohesion and reinforcements). The use of supply wagons though will allow your army to remain supplied in the wilderness, it just will require you to drag them along (slowing you down) and the bigger your army, the more you will need in order to last any reasonable time away from civilization.
