OKay, as the host, I see the battles as the turn unfolds after hitting next turn.

But as the non-host. Once I receive the replay, will I see battles as they happen during replay?

1st timer here who usually is host, but on this occasion I let the other guy be host.

Yes, during the replay, battles are presented with a crossed sobers icon on the region where they occur and you can click to open the battle report.
And of course you can also double click on the message line after the turn is processed to review to see the report again id you missed it on the replay.
