Why no replacements?

Latest patch, playing as British in AWI. I have a number of units in Boston that cannot refill with replacements, the strength bar is always halfway full. There is a supply depot and a fort. This has been going on for at least 8 months on some units maybe more.

I see no one else having these problems. I have reinstalled, and still same situation.

In need of a simple explanation before I go

Thanks!

Here is the save, more to follow if needed.

Hi!
I have been playing the 1755 campaign with the latest patch and have sometimes experienced what you explain.
After much  i think i finally discovered the reason.

I'm pretty sure this happens on regions where your supply situation is "on the limit". Your units have supply, but are not 100% stocked because what you consume each turn is slightly higher than what the region can offer or becasue tehy get there with their stocks depleted and are slowly refilling them.
So the stack will have maybe 87% of their supply (check the tooltip over the supply icon on the top right of the unit panel), and next turn it will decreases slightly to lets say 84% or maybe increases slightly to 91%, but you don't produce enough supply to top off their stocks up to 100%.
From my experience, once a stack is completely supplied (at 100%), it will start recovering hits.
But as long as they still have some supply issues (even if they are 99% full they will not recover hits (but i think they can receive full missing elements). :bonk:
Boston with a depot and a fort produce a lot of supplies, but if you have there a big land stack and maybe a big fleet (ships also need/consume supplies ;) ) they can stretch their capabilities.
To approximately know how many units a place can feed multiply x5 the supply level number you get on the region tooltip and compare it with the supply consumption per turn of all the stacks (even navel ones) locate there.

Can this be your problem?? :)
Regards!

If you're playing with hardened attrition on Arsan is right, you need more supply than you're consuming each go for units to regain strength. If the area is pillaged then you regain strength even slower. Watch out for harbours in winter being blockaded by ice as this lessens the supply aswell. If you have too many units in Boston for the supply generated then the area might become pillaged. Then your units will lose strength each go instead of gaining :(

I'm playing with normal attrition so it seems it applies to both
But i thinkmy units don't lose strength unless they became starved. they just don't recover (with normal attrition).
With hardened attrition units can lose strength even when immobile ;)

Alright, it appears it was my error. :bonk:

I either had to many units in Boston that was expecting replacements or I didn't wait long enough for the fort that I built a couple of turns ago to take effect. I did make sure that the units were always 100% supplied so go figure. What happened was I moved some units back to another depot and and then they refilled in Boston.

Thanks for all the suggestions! :hat:

This seems to be a deeper game from last time I remember it, well done!
