Indian Portraits

Sun Oct 05, 2008 12:50 pm

Hi folks, any budding artists among you? I'm creating a new scenario for WiA but I need at least a generic Indian portrait. Maybe just amend an existing one (Sangarecha?)

If after doing that you feel like making a few more I don't think any of the chiefs I need have ever had a portrait made so really you could do what you like as long as we take a quick look at the tribal dress and hair etc. But really what I need is a single generic portrait. :coeurs:

Cheers, Chris

In NCP the size in pixels is

81 x 81 for the units panel (graphics\units)

63 x 83 for the map (graphics\armies&fleets)

From the screenshots I have seen probably it is different in WIA, so you have to check in your graphics folder, or better send an example of each folder to Bo Rearguard.

Thanks Nikel, I will do this tonight when I get home.

For WiA :

85 x 85 for the units

96 x 110 for the map icons

78 x 135 for the portraits (no portrait for leaders)

The WIA images are almost identical in spec to AACW images.

96 x 110 canvas size for the map (army) images, but the actual picture is drawn in a space between these approximate points: (10, 14), (54, 14), (10, 78), (54, 78) - (44 wide x 64 high). The top line is approximate, cropping is at the bottom, and there is a fade of approximately one-pixel width at the edges.

85 x 85 canvas size for the unit images. The background oval is drawn inside a box using these points as corners: (7, 3), (73, 3), (7, 78), (73, 78) - (64 wide x 75 high). It has a one-pixel white (ffffff) border (internal not external), and a peach (fee7be) background.

78 x 135 canvas for full-length portraits.

It's a digital painting using Photoshop and a wacom tablet. It's come a long way, but it's still a work in progress. In the beginning he looked more like Vin Diesel. :D

Same actor played Geronimo ;) Longevity for Native Americans

He stole the show in Last of the Mohecans, though.

"Magua understands the English very well..." or words to that effect. Wes Studi should have won a Oscar for that performance, IMO!

He also played Wovoka in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, Wes Studi.
