A few acres of snow

I have come back to this came and noticed that now Fort Cumberland is destroyed before I can reach it, every time. Whereas before this was possible. Has the set-up changed or is the AI better? On latest patch.

There is a change in the 'AutoGarrison' setup which was making the remote locations death traps for AI French/Indian Raiders. Fort Cumberland and the peripherheral settlements are once again juicy, vulnerable raider-bait.

...and Athena is always getting better ;)

The same thing happens in the FIW Colonial variant, too. What I usually do is send Braddock's force, supplemented by supply wagons and artillery, to the Great Meadows region and build a new fort/depot (Fort Edward Braddock). This becomes my base for an attack on Duquesne in 1757-58.

Could you explain the 'AutoGarrison' change. From my memory the set-up looks the same but before (not sure what version was the last one I played) the french attacked Fort Cumberland but didn't take it and then my small force (taken from braddocks) got there to reinforce the militia unit. In the latest version the french attack always destroys fort cumberland. Not complaining I like the added challenge. Would just like to know the details of what has changed.

AutoGarrisons are active only for the AI, where they were available to human players before.

WIA uses Advanced AG.
