Supply in Louisbourg Fortress

Sat Aug 14, 2010 2:25 pm

After the shortage of supply in Louisbourg Fortress(colonial campaign, France) I build another depot. With the addition of new depot I increased my supply production,

Louisbourg now have level 2 harbour, level 2 fort and level 2 depot.(is not a city) Generating 36 supply level. It is one of the big supply production regions.

With 3 stacks(2 land and 1 naval) in region, Stacks wasn't able to have enough supplies. They were out of supply most of the time, and the supply map was showing green color all the time. I removed other stack from the region and The fleet was able to have supplies. 10 percent a turn increase in supplies of fleet.

I thought it was too low for a moderately developed region.(it is not a city of course) The fleet has many missing elements also, so it will take like 15 or more turns to fully recover. Supply map also misleading sometimes, maybe it should be give better information about supplies consumption after some additional calculations.

Cheers,

WAD :)

Louisbourg Supply was designed that way as part of overall scenario design.

Siege/capture of the Fortress by GBR was nearly impossible in early versions. This design setup was made as part of a long, contentious but finally successful redesign.

Similarly, in the 1775/1776 Campaigns, the Boston Supply, City size and Port are designed "low" to reproduce historical "starvation" of British forces..

Supply filter also WAD :) I test 10 turns or more about supply consumption, Fleet is gaining general supply at a rate of 1 percent a turn, so green color is ok. In the harsh weather it is becoming difficult to have supply.

In turn processing it is turning to red maybe to tell that supply production and consumption levels are even. Scenario design is very succesfull no doubt on that. :)
Thanks
