activation

A question which has come up in the game I'm playing now - what are the modifiers to activation, apart from the general's strat rating?

I gather military control of the area matters. How about NM? Loyalty? Command span?

Hi!
I think there is no other than this (taken from the manual)

"+1 Strategic Rating: A Leader who was active during the previous game turn increases his Strategic Rating
by one (1) for purposes of the Activation check."

And then there is the over cautious ability which was modified some time ago so now it works like this

"This Commander is extremely cautious and will often act slowly if not in friendly territory. (-1 CP modifier and will be inactive if he rolls a percent dice under current military control)"

I can't think of any other modifier

Cheers!

Thanks Arsan - but if there are no other modifiers, how is it possible for 6-rated leaders to lock, as I've seen them do from time to time?

I think there is a possibility to lock in regions lacking full MC or Loyalty...

fixHARuleChanceMC = 50 // Hardened Activation rule: Chance in per cent of being not fixed in case of 100MC (linear scaled in case of less MC)

So, with hardened activation on, 50% chance to lock if in 100% enemy region, scaled from there as MC moves in your favor

..not sure I'm reading it right, need expert answer ;)

..we 'switched off' the locking due to low or no supply....
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

I can't give you the source, but i recall having heard Pocus (or some other "ageodian" ;) ) explain some time ago that 6 strategic rating leaders that rolled a 6 will roll a second die and became inactive if rolling a second 6
Don't ask me what happen with 7 or higher strategic rating leaders (which you can get easily on corps commanders under a good army commander) as have no clue :bonk: :D maybe it will ask for rolling 3 or more sixes in a row??

Lodi,
I think hardened activation locking works like what you explain, but that would come into play after failing an activation roll :)

Cheers
