Newbie with some questions...

Tue Apr 07, 2009 10:40 am

Hello, I'm from Germany, new to these forums and first of all want to greet all friends of the ageod strategy games! :hat:

I just ordered BOA 2 and AACW via ebay.co.uk because after reading some reviews I came to the conclusion that they seem to be the kind of strategy games I've been looking for a long time (historically orientated, turnbased, nice graphics, good compromise between complexity and usability).

As I'm totally new to the ageod games I have some questions about them:

1. I'm very much interested in the American Civil War but AACW seems to be much more complicated as BOA 2. Maybe too complicated for a beginner like me? Should I start with BOA 2? What do you think?

2. Do these games offer widescreen support? (I use a monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050.)

3. I use Vista 32bit and read that you should install AACW into C:\ instead of C:\Programs for some technical reasons. Is the same true for BOA 2?

Thanks for your help! :)

Hi!
Welcome aboard
- Yes, probably its better to start with WIA before tackling AACW.
- Yes the games support widescreen
- I don't have Vista but im 99% sure that the issues and advices for AACW are also applicable to WIA as both games share the same engine.
Regards!
