Quattro Pro cannot open NCP database ".xls" files

This spreadsheet program could open and manipulate BoA database .xls file. I hesitate filling up my HD with open office; how big is it? Is there a workaround I haven't found?

Just to open, Excel Viewer 2003, but you cannot edit

Open Office installer is around 130 MB, so smaller than NCP


Another alternative, Gnumeric has a windows installer too, 14 MB

Is an excellent and completely free alternative to Microsoft Office.
And it works good with AGEod .xls files. I think some of the big modders use it.

OK, broke down and downloaded open office as price was right. I just may want to do more thn look at these files, which have much more in them than BoA
