Has AGEOD team ever thought about joining forces with

Personally, I hope that AGEOD decide not to include a full tactical mode in any future AGE games. I don't see it adding much, and I'm afraid it will take focus and resources away from the things that AGEOD has a proven track record on, as well as seriously unbalance the game and deteriorate the game experience.

There have been some posts and comments about an option to resolve battles in NCP tactically. We all know that AGEOD develops strategy games, but would this option be a good idea? If you want to play the battle, you play it, if not it is resolved such as it is right now.

I would like to know the opinion of any of the AGEOD team members, Mr Thibaut? Have you thought about this possibility? I read too there was contacts with HistWar developer, or is this an urban legend?

Hooking up with the HISTWAR chaps would I think be superiour as it is more realistic than American Conquest. This would be the ultimate wargame. Course if players wanted the AI to complete the battle for them then great no problem............

I've played games like MTW, BFME and also play LOTRO now and again. One thing that always turns me off is the lack of realism. And I don't mean the graphics.

I hate it that Medieval Total War seems a bit like Medieval Europe - but it is not Medieval Europe! Names of Kings, regions, sometime countries, are made up.

The tactical level is interesting but is only really for "kids" who want to prove they are faster at moving their troops around then the other player. IMHO.

One example I could give you is the Longbow. Now in reality the longbow was a long-range and fast weapon (in trained hands). In MTW you are lucky if your Retenu bowmen can get 3 or 4 shots off before being run-down by french cavalry. Most battles in MTW2 last about 10 minutes. Not realistic and ultimately a waste of time.

I thought I would give Napoleon's Campaigns a go since I am looking for historical accuracy.

More detail and more tactical options would be great - but please don't go down the MTW2 road!

For the fans of tactical battles a good idea is to play "Waterloo Napoleon Last Battle" or "Austerlitz: Napoleon Greatest Victory". For me NCP is a great game particularly by his strategic dimension.

Isn't American Conquest real time strategy? Actually I am a little bit sceptical whether that kind of combat simulation fits into NCP...
