Will be getting the game as soon as English box copy comes out.In the meantime have ordered three books from Amazon,The War of Wars:The Great European Conflict 1793-1815 by Robert Harvy.Historical Atlas of the Napoleonic Era by Angus Konstam, and The Peninsular War by Charles Esdaile.Has anybody read any of these, are they any good?

Not read any, but I was looking at done the same and on Amazon's UK website there are a lot of negative comments about Harvey, stating that there are a lot of historical innacuracies in his text

Esdaile one is very complete for doesn´t make for a great reading.
Kind of boring :siffle:

I prefer David Gates "The Spanish Ulcer". Good read and impartial but mostly centered on the military (Esdaile talsk also about politics, economy, society...)
Just my 2 cents
Cheers

Great minds must think alike! I, too, went to Amazon and found these (I already have a 2-volume bio of Nappy by Robert Asprey):

1) Wars against Napoleon: Debunking the Myth of the Napoleonic Wars, which is coming out in December (pre-order)
2) Napoleon's Road to Glory [Hardcover] by J. David Markham

I have the War of Wars by Robert Harvey, IMHO it's a great read which sheds much light on the time of Napoleon. It is a must for any wargamer who appreciates the era :sourcil: .

I have Historical Atlas of the Napoleonic Era by Angus Konstam, and it's a beautiful book with los of pictures and more taxt than the usual for a atlas. The maps are good in some campaigs but in others are too small y also have The Peninsular War by Charles Esdaile (Spanish version) a complete history of the warpolitcal and militar i don't think that it's boring like arsan said.

Thanks for the feedback guys, just received them from Amazon today, already started War of Wars.So far seems really good, like his style of writing.Except for Waterloo and Trafalger don't know too much about about Napoleonic Wars, thats why I wanted a book that covered it all.Picked this one because it had the most pages. Can't wait to get the box copy of the game.
