Why has Napoleon's Campaigns II completly dissappeared from the Paradox site? I would think there would be a strong base for this game? :(

The project has been stopped in its current format and scope for the moment. I believe it will come back later

Does "new format and scope" mean "TBS" ? :)

I was referring to PI version, you sneaky enquirer.... :mdr:

Hopefully TBS, if it becomes a RTS I am so out!

Have a couple of the Paradox titles but their just to abstract for my taste. Bought Crusader Kings II on a whim and just can't get into it. Feels like I'm trying to run a dysfunctional family most of the time. That being said I would really like sometime in the future if Ageod would bring out a Napoleon game that had the scope of the ACW game. I fear that now the Paradox title will be just too abstract for my liking.

I think NCP II's mothballing is the perfect opportunity to refresh (through a patch) all shortcomings of original NCP. Still a very nice game, I must admit. And I really like the *commit the guard* ability. I've only seen it in this AGE game.

Have you tried the latest patch 1.09a ?

Many improvements have been made, IMHO

So NCP2 could still return as an Ageod game?

I hope so. I love the Napoleonic era.

A sort of AGEOD "Empires in Arms" would be a dream come true.

I hope an AGEOD NCP2 version. I really prefer the AGEOD Engine versus the Paradox EU.
The WEGO system is more interesting than the stressful Paradox RTS.

Looks like the scope and scale of Alea Jacta Est would allow NCP2 to be run under the same engine?

If we were to made a NCP2 game, the map scale would be much enlarged, with at least twice as many provinces, to better represent the operational aspects of Napoleonic warfare and campaigns...but the same engine could cope with it easily

Sounds encouraging!
:)
Most of the map work must have been done with the Paradox game?
Now only a diplomatic system is needed!

Nope, the map in the Paradox game is strictly the same as the original, except for the addition of Northern Scandinavia...so that won't work

Ah ok, so next project, design a new map?
One day?

Look here: http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?24730-The-Larger-Europe-Map-Project ... among other things, it would be good for a possible NCP2 if it comes to life one day ;)

Indeed interesting.

I also would love to see an NCPII by AGEOD, never liked the idea that PI simply takes a good name and makes a bad sequel.

I hope you do it... just make sure to add the ability to "buy" units like AACW. I think it's this kind of ability that draws people in to these kinds of games because it gives people the kind of control they desire to change history. The "if napoleon had raised these kinds of units instead of those, then he would have retained his throne" type of game play is very popular imo. It's one of the parts of AACW that keeps people going back to it because they can try new builds out to win or win quicker or more decisively etc etc...

Don't believe that what I say indicates that our next game is NCP2. But, yes, it is clear that given the new capabilities of the engine, there would be units recruitment, diplomacy, regional decisions, multi-factions and some others things indeed!

I do have to add my two cents worth, what better game than one with the first master, Napoleon, in a grand campaign in a game system with the second master and his fellows?

+1

It could include a seperate Peninsular War scenario as well, that would be great.
