Are you still interested in NCP and want a new patch ?

Yes of course. Still play it and want it to be patched. The last patch was a lot of time ago

No. NCP development has already concluded and AGEod should better concentrate on new games

At least a last patch?

Sat May 09, 2009 12:48 pm

Hi. I wonder whether there is still some interest in NCP here or not, specifically for a new patch.

Some functions have been added for other games that good be great in NCP too, like the replay feature and the stack list in the ledger.

The AI has been improved for other games, for example in winter. This would be good for NCP, in my last game prusso-polish campaign I saw a prussian army encamping for several turns in a salient of the Oder river (IIRC), not a good site to pass day after day in winter :D

There were problems reported in some scenarios a lot of months ago, look at the spanish campaign,...

...

So please AGEod, just one more patch? :)

I want to play the peninsular campaign again, but to do so with hardened attrition on the replacements issue needs sorting out IMHO

One more patch please

Great :)

I see you are a RoP beta, so this is not a matter of lacking beta testers ;)

Please to those who are interested, post some comment, perhaps we can influence AGEod in a positive way :w00t: Yes, I am talking to the third one who so far voted yes ;)

I have some graphics for the military options that could be added if there is interest, they are creating dust

May be to help us out on that, why not a list of "wishes" for that patch. I already note the AI request (which should be automatic)...

 • Retrofit as many improvements from other AGEOD games as possible.
 • Fix all reported bugs.
 • Clean up/simplify/better document the modding facilities, to make modding easier for the unwashed masses.

Given its operational emphasis, its focus on historical scenarios (not any "grand campaign"), also its subject matter, NCP remains my favorite AGEOD game.

So, yes please, resume patching!

Great! I suppose that your answer is a yes

Perhaps this poll should have been posted before :niark:

Well if the AI is automatic I guess that replay, ledger,... and other functions are easy to implement in NCP. Well the ledger was in 1.05 beta but not in the final 1.05a

Ebbingford, some time ago created a graphic for the new HQ option. I could resume creating them if there is interest in including this option in the patch

Regarding the bugs in the scenarions, it is needed to reread the old threads :bonk:

Everything that Ebbingford and Nikel already said + maybe give Nikel the chance to assemble a new NPC mini improvement team ?

Unfortunately I cannot do that, I can only help with some graphics and testing/playing of course, but that is not the most important thing, a coordinator that manages the databases,... is needed, like what happens with AACW and WIA

I had assumed that another NC patch was coming in the months ahead. I certainly would be happy for one. I am currently finishing a Spanish Campaign and plan to play several more in the coming months while I wait for RoP. NC is still my favorite AGEOD game to date. I am sure that will change though after RoP and VGN are released.

Only 3 arsan :niark:

OK here is a little contribution to the list.

1806-1807 campaign. Napoleon enters Warsow, but

And the winter affair. Could recover a turn where a prussian army is already in the confluent of the Bober, not before because of the limitation of the 24 turns, it was there the next turns, while the french army was at Berlin enjoying beer and sausages :niark:

Kustrin is near hidden by the black box, and should be a better place to be

The turn is here just in case it is useful

Come on guys, post bugs and wishes, it is now or never...

Took good note of this... I believe at some point a summary of everything in a single post, like a patch improvement list, should be required ;)

Well, it looks like you didn't got my idea with that post... so, I will rephrase it accordingly. ;)
Considering the post of PhilT, that he wanted a summary of all suggested changes, you (Nikel) should make a good use of your first post (the first of the thread) and update it with a little summary and links to each one of the suggestions.
That way, The Phils can have a good summary of all the suggestions just by looking at your post. So, you will be using your initial post as a summary, just like PhilT wanted... and nothing gets lost of all your effort. ;)

Yes, got it.

But considering this will be the last patch (if any), imagine that I forget some link or bug or something. This is a great responsability and needs time :niark: ;)

Now seriously. I was expecting more comments (bugs or request) from the ones that voted "yes"

Well, then I must say that I voted no... I preffer to see the effort of Pocus on an "hypothetic" NCP2 with a full campaign in place. ;)

a last patch would be great. Here's what i think should be looked at.
1: work on/ fix scenarios
2:AI
3:Retrofit from WIA or other AGEOD games
4:fix any bugs that may be present

Return to “Napoleon's Campaigns”
