Saint-Hilaire's portrait

Sat Nov 15, 2008 6:38 am

My favorite Napoleonic general is Saint-Hilaire who lead the breakthrough at Pratzen Heights. According to the internet, this is what he looks like:

Apparently he has more hair than the one depicted in the game, unless he has a comb-over :) . Also, his full name is Louis-Charles-Vincent Le Blond de Saint-Hilaire. Shouldn't that mean something? :D

Anyway, I definitely prefer this one over the one in the game. Can someone make a portrait of Saint-Hilaire+hair from the picture above? ;) Thank You!

Another thing I have noticed is that Olivier Rivaud de la Raffinière's portrait is absent. I mean literally absent and all I see is a blank space. Pehaps it is the unofficial portrait pack that I have installed? In that case I apologize for bringing that up. I will try reinstalling and see.

You are right in both cases, do not reinstall.

Rivaud de la Raffinière's problem was my fault. The explanation and the solution are here, in the new patch french thread, but the explanation is in english

About Saint-Hilaire, yes the portrait in the game is wrong. He is in fact Etienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, a french naturalist of the period 1772-1844. But this is not my mistake

And our General is Louis Charles Vincent Le Blond de Saint-Hilaire 1766-1809. I could try to do a portrait with the picture posted, but the quality is not very good, let's see ;)

Save the original pictures just in case and

Copy the first portrait to the "Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Graphics\Units" folder

And the second to "Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Graphics\Armies&Fleets"

:bonk: What a goof! :D
I always thought that the original St. Hilaire did not looked very martial :mdr:
Good work with the new portrait.
It's a shame there is no better original picture to take as a model. But the result is pretty good anyways
