New Ability concept: Effectivity

Starting with AACW 1.09 or NCP 1.03, all abilities have a new parameter, (and thus a new column in the XLS file): Effectivity.

The default, NULL or 0, changes nothing.

Set to 1, it means the ability will only be effective if it is born by an activated land leader.

Set to -1, it means the ability will only be effective if it is born by an non-activated land leader.

Why restrict to land leaders? Because Naval leaders are always activated, this is a core rule.

Hmm, okay. So now different traits can be tailored for both Active and Inactive states. Can you give an example?

Can you call it "Effectiveness", or may be "Efficiency", I believe it is more gramatically correct in English ? :sourcil:

Effectiveness would be fine. Effectivity is not an English word. Based on what the parameter does, I'm not sure there is a really correct English word to use here.

Effectiveness is good, although making up your own words is a perfectly acceptable thing to do!

I'd llike to try some things with this:
Is this parameter simple added to the end of an ability file? Is it the last column of database? How does it appear in the split out ability file?

Are the latest DB (AACW 1.09, BoA 1.13) posted?

The wording must indicate that the ability can be conditionnalyy active. In one word :)

An example would be to give a command bonus to subordinates, but only if activated.

I'll amend the DB and code if you are all happy with effectiveness.

the AACW db is already updated with that.
