Small Units

Hi folks, If I want to show an Indian tribe of say 60 men is there any way of doing this in a scenario? In WiA each Indian element has 180 men but some do start with something like 175/180 men. Where does the 175 figure come from and will the missing 5 men be recovered through replacements?

It seems that small battles may be difficult to represent?

The number of men displayed is determined from the number of Hits model has and the conversion factor to men: MenPerHit.

175/180 simply means that 5 Warriors took a day off to relax, no need to worry about. Check the Unit Detail Window or the tooltip for the number of Health/Hitpoins to see if the unit is really damaged.

Example:

Code: Select all

UID = 211
NationTag = IND
Name = $Model_Name_IND_Braves
[...]
Hits = 6
MenPerHit = 30
HorsesPerHit = 0
GunsPerHit = 0
Cohesion = 45
6 Hits * 30 MenPerHit = 180 Men

If the unit lost one hit in Battle: about 30 Men will be missing. The numbers are fluctuating a bit, however.

Thanks Norbert, so unless a new model is made it would not be possible to start a scenario with an Indian unit containing much less than 180 men.
Damn!

Actually, you can start with any 'number', by defining the 'unit health'.

If you look in 1636 'Pequot War' at Misistuck or Niantic Fisherman, you can see this.

Each unit has only one element, and health is set at 50%.

They will, however, gain strength and possibly replace the missing element.

If you need a unit to stay at the low strength, then yes, we'd need a new model...
