Unable to move sprite in region

Hi folks, I am back to AACW after a break of several weeks and playing now I notice that in many regions I am unable to move a sprite in a region without it snapping back to it's original position a few seconds later. I am talking about regions that only contain friendly units.
This makes it far more difficult and clumsy to see what units you have and manipulate forces in a region. I find it quite frustrating. Has something changed in a patch in the past few weeks? Possibly related to the fix made to prevent sprites being displayed in the wrong region?
Cheers, Chris

I have also noticed it, and this has been somewhat mentioned by me and others a couple of days ago in the "Christmas patch" thread; I think IMHO it has something to do with the "regroup" option, that got messed up, was fixed, but now the units "move" inside the regions after we try to change their position.
But I think we did not get any feedback from Pocus & co yet...

Yes, this is the intended work-around for the problem of sprites not in the region they should. Is the fix worst than the initial problem?

No, but IMHO the initial problem was worst than how things were before

Actually I don't quite know what happened

I certainly preferred the odd sprite in the wrong region to this large pile of units but I can understand that it could confuse new players.
Can it be optional?

Having played for a few more hours I must say I now really dislike this change. It makes moving units around a chore.

leure:
Particularly frustrating is the way units outside of structures are moved on top of the structure obscuring the details of the town and units within it.

I agree with you, Chris. Also frustrating if you try to move a detachment into a region to join another stack. If there are multiple stacks, the one you want to find is not always on top.

+1
BTW, This is something that's always happened in the Atlantic shipping/blockade boxes, no matter the patch, AFAIK

However, merging using tabs does now work well.

Yes that's very true.

First step would be to increase the tolerance before checking out the new system... It is there to clean up the weird displacements, but is perhaps too zealous.

Yes, this is worse than the previous situation. Please give us a way to show a specific stack on top.

Also it makes all the little action icons above the unit sprite look as though they are all for the top unit - it makes it difficult to know what you have set.
I hope we can get a change for this. Pretty please

I believe that the problem is common to all regions.

I'm finding this now as well. This really needs to be changed back to the way it was. It has a big negative impact on the game at the moment for me. It's common to all regions.

Is the problem still there in 1.09 beta3? I don't have problems right now.

Hi Philippe, from your response on the previous thread I had the feeling you would maybe do nothing about this for this patch? I'll try the 1.09 beta to see how it works now.
It makes a big difference to how easy it is to play the game to me now.

The sprite positions in 1.09 now seem fine from a quick test. I assumed something was changed in the patch then?
If so 1,000 thanks!

I added more tolerance to the autoreplace function yes.
