I'm pretty sure I've heard some complaints about moves not working as planned, but I can't for the life of .. just remembered, it's in the Tourney Brackets thread the post of moni kerr's and Rattler's email exchange. He reported a unit ordered to move so that it ends in it's original region not being moved at all.

Okay, a picture's worth a 1000 blah blah blah.

First move plan

Results: the fleet only moved into the first region and stayed there

Second move plan

Results: the fleet did not move at all(!!)

Third move plan

Results: the fleet move to the first region and stopped

I'll only mention in passing that this huge fleet

only got 4 hits on the fort. Nothing like the good-ol'-day, way-back-when in the Ardennes

I've gone back to check when this started to occur, but I haven't tested the extent of moves being cut short. I can confirm that land units that end their move in the region from which they started will not move at all. This started occurring after RC10a. In RC10a it still works.

Ut oh.
I don't have a save to offer but I have the sinking feeling that a movement loop that goes through the same region twice will also end up not moving as intended. I kept trying to do a "search & destroy" major sortie with a riverine fleet and was mystified to see it repeatedly not move at all--or else simply move a limited segment of the loop (and with no combat or enemy encounters reported).

Moving through the same region more than once works okay. It's just ending your move in a region through which you have already moved will truncate that move to only moving to that region.

For example, this move will result (barring any altercations with enemy units during the move) with the cavalry regiment in Louisville

This move however will result in the cavalry regiment stopping in Nelson Ky the first time it reaches that region without it moving through Meade and Hard Ky

Thanks for clarifying that: you can party, just don't polka. :non:
