After 5 days and after 114 turns (Campaign + KY) as Confederate I won !!!

2 reasons:

a) In the winter the AI don´t care his army. I have seen no less 3 IA (union) armies (about 200.000 men), get to finish as snow under the sun.

b) The union tatics, in the colaps is to defend objective cities without sense.
In 1864 a big union army of 89.000 men, leave Chicago (I was near this city) to occupe LUISVILLE (KY) deep in my territory ... i took Chicago. After I ´ve got to regroupe a huge army near Luisville, and beat him, survivor 20.000 army escape and occupe Fort Donaldson ... !

There isn´t a priority in the care of cities. The AI lose Chicago e Buffalo, but attack Luisville and Fort Donaldson ...

But the worse problem is the first, I never gain if the AI didn´t lose so many men in the winter.

My setting are:


Active Ai Check
Difficult level normal
Use all behavours check
Activation bonus normal

Ai detect bonus no bonus
Agressiveness normal
Give AI more time check

Change Ai detect bonus to +3 or more
Change Agressiveness to passive

This will give the ai better performance for the most part.

I tested your setting but don´t work.

I won (as Confederate) at late August 1862.

The AI suicide 2 big armies:

in the august 1861 a 22.000 men union army attack Suffolk and walking NOT SUPPLIED in downside of James River, without battle lose 95% of stenght.

in the winter 1862 a 43.000 men union army conquest Winchester (but Harper Ferry is Confederate). So sorrounded by me, stay passive UNSUPPLIED in the city. In the April 1862 a simply attack of Stuart Cav division, destroy a union army.

After 4 months I´ve got Washington (defended by 12.000 men only), and the game too.

The AI DON´T CARE HIS ARMIES (more in the winter).
