Bug in 1.15 (generals congratulation)

Maybe it's been already reported:
In 1.15, my generals are congratulated and gain seniority even if they lose their battle, it happened several times.

I just write it off as that general performing better than the others. It usually happens to me for a division commander who was heavily involved but didn't lose many men.

I kinda like the flavor. Everything doesn't need to be completely formulaic.

Yea that's the way I take it too, I reported it in the case it is an unwanted behavior.

It is probably a good way to allow the more talented Unio generals like Reynolds and Hancock to advance and succeed their initial superiors like Franklin and Sumner.

Yes, note in the stickied Quick Reference Guide that generals get congratulated for dealing more damage than they receive, not necessarily for driving the enemy from the field. A well-fought retreat may be laudable if it saves the army from annihilation.
