When choosing the cotton embargo move, for that turn the economics screen will report a victory point and national morale LOSS instead of the gain it's supposed to be.

A bit confusing, I know, but it is actually telling you your costs. So if you are 'losing' -3 NM, you really are gaining 3.

It shows up on the projected subtotal line though.

Where are you seeing subtotals for these items at?

If you're referring to the remaining part of the Embargo statement: "Intervention possible gain: 11-22 (65%). Possible loss: 15-30 (35%).", that's referring to the possible change in Foreign Intervention itself, which could swing either way.

On any of the screens that show projected totals at the end of the turn for dollars, conscripts, and war supplies.

125 thousand dollars, 100 conscripts, 300 war supply

*choose cotton embargo*

-25 thousand dollars, 100 conscripts, 300 war supply, -5 VP, -3 NM

Since it's the projected total, it makes it look like you're ending your turn losing VP and NM. The actual VP and NM display will show the correct amount next turn, but the projection screen give you the impression you're losing them.

+1

I noticed that a while back and thought it was wierd too. However, I guess I have learned to just ignore it and drive on. It is kind of annoying though.
