Just hower your mouse over the stack and check if any brigade has "room" (as in my screenshot above). At least I tend to do that regularily

The problem there is that replacements are not the only reason for that set of numbers to vary. At least, I'm pretty sure that it's not. The times that I've noticed the numbers changing is when the units cohesion or strength isn't at 100%.
Also, you'd have to separate stacks to receive accurate info on specific units.

Point being it would simply be nice for things to be clearer. None of this is game breaking by any means, but it would make the game easier to use and manage. Since it sounds like Pocus agrees, hopefully we'll get something in a patch... eventually.

Hi!

You can know what elements are missing from a brigade with a little trick  :
On the units panel, select the brigade you want to know about and any other unit on the stack. Then put the mouse over the (+) button on the left as if you wanted to merge them.
The button will be grayed out (except if by chance you selected a second unit that complemented the missing elements of the first) but the tooltip over the grayed out button will tell you the official TOE of both units, to explain to you that they are not complementary and you cannot merge them.
The downside of this method is that you need to have two units on the stack and that it does not work with full divisions. You have to separate the brigades forming it. :bonk:
Regards

Good trick!
(within it's limitations, of course).

I see ... but aren't we basically talking about 4-5 kinds of service assets (hospital, balloon, engineer, signals ... what else?), x3 = 12 to 15? Doesn't seem excessive to me, there is plenty of space on the support tab of the reinforcements screen for that. Nothing compared to the 2-3 types of infantry brigades, for about what, 20 states = 40-60 fields on the regular tab. (I would go and do an actual count but my game needs forever to load. :bonk :)

I think it would be less of an inconvenience than having to ship balloons that were intended for Vicksburg all over the map from DC. :)

Hi
To solve this inconvenience, all (or most :confused :) of this support assets can be redeployed just like leader are

Indeed? I didn't know that, I thought it was limited to leaders and HQs. Thanks!

Yup, they can! I meant to mention that myself...
I'm fairly certain that any unit which says "suppot: yes" in it's card can be redeployed.

...well, I take that back. Supply units and baloons can't.
humm

Regardless, I know that arsan is correct. Leaders, HQ, Medical, Engineer, and Signal units can all be redeployed for sure.
