I really like this game ... that being said ...

Question #1)
Im having a difficult time fully understanding Unit size

Maybe its me, but I find I need to know the relative (doesnt have to be exact) Units size or Force --- How many men are in my stack or group?

There must be someway to see the number of men (without going to the detail window) that can display number of men in a force.

Sometimes I go into battle with no concept of my force size OR the oppositions

This is more a suggestion for a patch - please help

Is there an easier way of unloading all transports than drag and dropping each icon to the shore? Am I missing an easy command of loading and unloading men from a ship to the shore?

In the Battle Report Screen - If I mouse over a Nato Icon I see this --- Infantry, Regular (7-5-8). Can you explain what this means? I also see Leaders with these ratings. I do not see anything that relates to the (7-5-8) on the Unit detail screen.

Am I correct in assuming (Detail Window) that 1 Heart = 25 Men (approximately)?

1. People think differently. I know that PhilThib would say to you that one hit point approximatively mean 25 men, but for me I mostly consider the unit overall strength as the measure of how much is powerful (or weak) a regiment is.

So... When you move the mouse over one of your army on the main map, or over an enemy army particularly well identified, you have after each combat unit a number like this 18/24. It means that the overall combat strength of the regiment is 18, for a theorical combat strength of 24. This agregated value is computed by the game by using as a base the statistics of the unit (offensive fire, defensive fire, range, etc.) time a coefficient which take into account the actual number of hit points the whole regiment has. In essence the higher the overall combat strength is, the higher the battle prowess of your unit.

Some common figures: a full strength regiment is around 28 to 32, or 24 for an american milicia. An indian nation unit is around 16, a courrier des bois (french skirmisher) around 21, etc. As a quick reminder you just have to know that a 30 points regiment is a very strong regiment, at full strength.

You can also check the overall cbt strength by checking the number in each unit card, on the regiment stack window (the panel at the bottom center of the screen). Finally, the NATO symbol on the regiment panel is in red when the regiment is not at full strength.

With some practice you should be able to estimate at a glance how powerful your army is.

2. There is no "unload all" command, except if the fleet move into an harbor, in which cas all land units are disembarked. But if you want to unload into a shore, you can ctrl-click each unit you want to disembark. Then when you are satisfied with your selection, take and drag one of the selected unit on the shore (this is the example given in the tutorial with the english southern fleet)

3. For leaders this is the strat-offensive-defensive rating. For the units its ... a deprecated value that has not been cleaned! We will change that in a patch (not the monday patch though, perhaps within 10 days or so).

4. Yes, if you want The hit points is an abstract figure in fact. A line regiment have generally 8 hit points for each element (for a total of 32), but in fact in the era the figures were very variable: english regiments, at full strength were around 500 (or less), french regiments were around 800-900 and some militias climbed to 1600!
