Great news. Keeping an already addictive game more addictive. Spot on about the spelling of the city name "Cleaveland." It wasn't changed until 1831. It's just that type of attention to detail that has made this game the excellent product that it is.

Woooooooooo! Three cheers for the team!

While you're ready to give us some info :siffle: , what is the area covered by this scenario? Does it go from Detroit up to Montréal (so as to include Chateaugay and Chrysler's Farm), or "only" concentrates on the very Great Lakes area and the Niagara peninsula?

And as far south as Washington, so I can burn the White House down to the ground? *jumping around my computer* :niark: :dada:

Talk about great news in a single post. First the surprise addition of the 1812 campaign in 1.10, and an announcement of the second title within ten days!

Good times. :dada:

This is only the Great Lakes scenario, not the full campaign, which is still to be finished... and we are totally commited on the 2nd game theorically.

My mistake, Pocus. Still, even though it'll be a scenario as opposed to a campaign--it remains free additional content, and still great news!

MAIS!!!! C'est fantastique!!!!!!!!!

How about a "make believe" scenario about the invasion of the Ottawa river (Bytown=Ottawa) as it was knowed then?? For us Canadian players......

Gratz on the great works!

I've taken a quick look at the 1812 scenario. I'm delighted that it has been included. This kind of commitment to the historical game process demonstrates that we should all take this company very, very seriously.

I also applaud the presence of the faces of the game designers as substitutes for the portraits of unknown generals. It shows great elan and esprit, and I find it very amusing. But as every re-enactor knows, one of the first things you have to worry about is ahistorical facial hair and modern grooming.

So at the risk of antagonizing Sandra (who is rapidly becoming one of my minor heroes), could I suggest that you keep the basic faces of the equipe but remove the modern eyeglasses, beards, and moustaches? I think it would be even more clever if you introduced modern faces in perfect period disguises, and then proposed a challenge to all to see if we could find them.

My other comment, probably born out of confusion over the locations of Fort George and Fort William Henry, is that the 1812 scenario is missing a small town, that, although it doesn't appear in the combat area, was the scene of a very important event in this war. I believe back then it was often refered to as something like Federal City, and it was located across the Potomac from Alexandria in the map region named Montgomery (modern Montgomery County).

If you include it, and ever get around to producing the full campaign, the British will have something to burn when they really get annoyed at their former colonials.
