Unfortunately Kamerad, the manual still explains the old AACW procedure. There ain't any .TRN files anymore. It's now the .HST etc. I read somewhere, I think Philip mentioned it somewhere... Thanks for the quick reply anyway; perhaps you also got surprised ^5. Klink, Oberst Sorry, I did not know th...

Pages 12 and 13 in the manual outline PBEM play. It's quite simple. Just follow those instructions, works fine.

Is the AJE patch for BoR also?

I'm a bit confused why there is no BoR sub-forum. Since there is not, can we assume that an update/patch to AJE applies to BoR also? I ask this because I understand that BoR has the same engine and gameplay as AJE. I don't have AJE.

My preference would be the other way round to you GWG. I can't see the map when it's dark and would prefer a bright unblinking highlight of the accessible areas. That's essentially what I've been trying to say. Actually, the highlight already exists, and is clearly visible on my system after I ligh...

I just see no point in the fade. It doesn't enhance anything and is just an annoyance, albeit a minor one. I would prefer to be able to turn this feature off.

Yeah, see my 'fade in, fade out' thread in the forum. But Calvinus says there's nothing we can do to stop that. Yes, if you click on a province it still highlights. I wasn't seeing the 'movement range' highlight until I lightened all the map tiles. You might try the mod I posted for a lighter map an...

turning off map highlight under mouse

in the map.ini file there is this entry: HighlightAreasBelowMouse=1 When set to 0 the province under the mouse cursor is no longer highlighted. Another little step towards simplifying and soothing the look of the map. I appreciate the artistry of the developer in creating the map, and all the bells ...

fade in, fade out

When I click on an army, the unit icon and the areas around it fade from light to dark, then back to light, and on and on in a slow cycle. Is there a setting to stop that?

I tried it again, plus trying to reduce the file sizes. I ended up going to 256 color images, which reduced the file sizes by 1/3. I think it looks good. Now I can upload the zipped folder somewhere - have to figure out where - I'll post here with a link. [later] here's the link, hope it works: http...

Not much use in me posting it as a mod. It would be much easier for anyone who wants it to simply download irfanview or some other image software, and do a batch operation on the map tiles. To zip them all up would be a gig of files, approx. Here's how I did it (extremely simple): 1) download and in...

a lighter map

Using irfanview I did a gamma change on all the map tiles. To me it's a more pleasing, less wearing look for the map. With something like photoshop I'm sure an even better result could be obtained. Here you see the before and after, for the 1st tutorial map. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/gw...

It's only useful if you would be restarting a scenario over and over, like I did the Serbia scenario. Must have played that 10 times figuring things out.

Reconaissance map mode: gold colored areas are in range of a theoretical air unit for recon purposes. I say theoretical, because I see such a range in the Serbia scenario, in which there are no air units.

I think this is the way the supply map mode works, from looking at the colors.csv file: light green provinces - unlimited source of supply dark green - limited source of supply dark brown - supply relay gold - region not colored by one of the three above, but in supply red - out of supply for a give...

Well, like I said, I'm still adjusting the colors. But here you see that Russia is slightly brownish, Austria is slightly greenish. Germany is slightly grayish, but that hardly shows up at all.

And I can actually see the border.

Is there a way to brighten the colors, for instance in the political map mode? I just want all the colors not so rich and dark. I use the Nvidia GT220 card. I'm certain that this is not a video card glitch, because all of the corps that are actually in this scenario show up in the non-empty units. The phenomena is at least consistent, in that the extra empty units are created every time I play the scenario, immediately after...

Can someone explain what an empty detachment represents? Example in the Serbia scenario, there are two units in the province, both detachments. One is made up of a corps, the other is empty.

First off, I'm no modder. So there is probably a better way to do this, and if someone knows it, please advise. It lists "minimal", "half" and "full" (IIRC). What should be the default? Minimal would seem to be very risky since if you intercept an full army with a single corps you will likely get killed. It seems Full would be the standard setting because at least you'll have enough force for any eventuality...
