PhilThib:

Bravo. Your company's philosophy is one reason why I have purchased BOA, WIA, NC, ACW, Montjoie and WWI. And I will continue to purchase your products.

That said, crack the whip and get that patch out. I had my first CTD tonight.

Keep up the good work.

Yes Tamas. I was concentrating on the Western Front to learn the mechanics and I was ignoring the Austrians. They had mandatory attacks.
Found it out right before I read your post.

Thanks.

On "mandatory attacks" the only red flags I see are over French Units and I am playing as the Germans ?? I'm lost here. Help. August 1914 second move and I can't finish the turn.

No Freezes ever for me. No long waits either. But I do get some CTDs and I get an error every time I exit the game.

Mandatory Attacks

I am fooling around with the 1914 Campaign. When I try to get my second turn movement going I can't because I have not apparently finished "mandatory" attacks or activations. How do I check the requirements for the Von Schlieffen plan from inside the game ?? Or do I need to write down the requiremen...

Minor problems continued:

On end of scenario you get a victory or defeat screen with points; but you can't review the tally or the map as it's gone.

I'm getting an error message when exiting the game.

Matrix says that their release scheduled today comes with a 52 page manual. The AGEOD version came with a 23 page manual. Is this a more elaborate manual and, if so, can we get it ?? A more detailed manual would be very helpful. Frankly, I don't want to plow through the boardgame rules, just to get ...

Just tried the Grand Campaign 1914 first turn on default settings (security =3) I think. Waited at most under 3 minutes for any one phase. On the Palestine scenario, I have almost no waiting time.

I don't minimize the problems you guys are having; but they apparently depend on the system.

Music

So far so very good, though there appears to be a bit of a learning curve. I think this game will be a classic. One thing I appreciate immensely is the music. Over three hours of good period stuff. Much more than the usual English, German & French. The Italian selections are especially nice. Develop...

How about a brief "how to" with respect to battles. What does placement in deployment and front line actually do ?? How does breakthrough work ?? The present manual is not very helpful.

You gentlemen certainly speak the truth. Even if Amazon were to sell this game at a discount (and I would bet there is a mistake or inaccuracy involved here) how would that be wrong of AGEOD. NWS routinely sells HPS games at a discount on the publication date. With AGEOD especially, I like to deal w...

I do not know. In the manual I just see that for a campaign you pick a "side" Central Powers or Entente. Perhaps someone else knows ??

If you are playing against the AI in the campaign game, don't you have to choose a "camp" (Entente or Central Powers) rather than a nation. ??

On the day I pre-ordered I also had trouble with Internet Explorer and had to use Mozilla. You gentlemen at Ageod should check into this as it could cost you sales.

I am looking forward to Armistice Day.

Fred Anderson is ok, but Crucible of War can be DRY. He also covers a period after the war itself. Some of the discussions of Indian politics in Crucible of War are so detailed, and boring, that I found myself begging for mercy. For a good old fashioned narrative history get a copy of Montcalm and W...

Try it with what you have. "Requirements" are not written in stone, I have found. If you need to upgrade, one GIG of RAM is pretty cheap. Google "RAM" and get some quotes.

Pre-ordered and downloaded. It was a two part download. One instantaneous exe. (part 1); and a lengthy 777 MB (part 2). You can not yet play the game; but you can access the pdf. manual.

Can't get to AGEOD Main Site

I was finally able to get into the forums with a link from another site, but I can't get to the main AGEOD site. I keep getting a screen with a "web mail" log in ?? I have been a customer for years and never had any problems.

Patch

I applied the patch (when it first came out) and then RTG's fix which fixed the crash. Should I just install the new patch (when available) over that. Or should I uninstall and start over from scratch ??

Thanks.
