Re: Eastern White first moves ?

Playing as Reds a bit like Napoleon in WON needs total victory. It can take longer to play vs AI.
I also recommend playing both Whites and look at pdf guide while playing. Don't rush to make turns.

Re: In the meantime, what do you play and why?

From the Illwinter website, " The update (3.26, last of CoE3) is only available on Steam. " CoE4 and Dominions 5 runs without steam application in the background even purchased from steam. But it should run with steam once with each patch. Good games but need good pbem community. I don't ...

Seven Years' War would be cool. :) Maybe a bit extending map with new faster engine. Past games were well designed, redoing some of the conflicts with the new engine is good enough for me.

Before mini patch I think Red Army should be bigger in numbers and have more regular type of infantry build pool in later years other than concripts brigade pool. Just opinion, others could have different opinion.

It is good game I think you can also like Thea: The Awakening. It is about Slavic mythology and has some storytelling. Battles are card game and challenges have many variety. Martial, intellect, stealth, tactics etc.. depends on party members stats.

Strategic Command Global Conflict pbem. Also playing solo Campaign Series: Middle East 1948-1985. I think it will have DLC about conflicts of Peşmerge; Kurdish militia against pre and after Iranian revolutionary guard.

Re: Second Post Release Patch

I think it wasn't all about Karl's war. Remember Peter of Russia was successful about modernizing clergy and army while III. Selim wasn't successful in janissaries. Pruth Campaign could be important as an option although game campaign isn't about Ottoman&Russian wars.

It was not a mercenary army who pick sides about who bribes. Previous Grand Vizier didn't favour war with Russia. But with Mehmed Pasha*, Giray Khan and Charles convinced sultan to go to war. For Crimean Tatars reason is obvious, Russian expansion. For Ottomans it was to take control of Azak fort ag...

Re: Second Post Release Patch

Historically a very important event was king Charles XII exile in the Ottoman Empire 1709-1714. Is this event possible in the game? It would require a very specific set of circumstances to happen. Such as Sweden somehow ending up in Ukraine, suffering a devastating defeat there combined with the su...

Re: Outofeight gameplay review

I think it is more about how much they know about the conflict. It can be important for player rather than actual gameplay to evaluate difficulty. Italy Campaign shouldn't be difficult than Wars in America or AJE smaller beginner scenarios. New players can start with this game I think.

Merry Christmas guys! Strategic Command is a good series, tho I haven't tried the latest SC3 title. Great Mithridatic War

In our 3 player pbem game Romans put a bounty on Sertorious head and he also achieved alliance with Pontus. But after the alliance event fired (I spend -15 EP) 4-5 turns later -now it is turn 35- there is no increase in ship pool for Sertorious. Will it be later. I plan to conquer remaining Ibericus...

It can be WAD but I'm not sure. Romans could use night crossing option at start. As it is mountain terrain they won't be defeated easily in Messena.

Edit: Ooops may be I understand your question wrong! :bonk:

About the referendum, it could have happened somewhat pacefully, but I think Madrid has used provocative agents to make it dirty and then treat this with violence (instead of politically) on all, using these bad laws of 2015. In the middle east separatist groups mostly use unfair tax or&and exp...
