PBEM ?

Hi who's interested to start a pbem ? One one turn per day minimum. As I never played PON (or even any Ageod games) in pbem before I'm not offering to organise the game and would let a more experience player configure the game and organise the logistics ... Any country for me would be fine, maybe a ...

Re: Is this forum dead ?

I find it a bit scary to be honest... I still hope we will get some nice new games in the future but who knows. Phil Thib and the "board game" feel are sort of the essence of what made AGEOD different, in an era of either hardcore simulation à la WITP or arcadish games with historical fee...

Re: Peace offer

PON is not quite a "tint-the-world-in-my-color" game. You can only claim regions in a peace deal that either - border to one of your National Regions (not Colonial 101% regions as far as I know) - have a majority of your national population (French, in your case) - regions of tribal state...

Re: Let's bet on the next ageod game

Not sure how it works but I guess you pay a fee or % for using the engine, it is not free, or it was not. Third party is not Ageod proper (PhilThib and Pocus), though they usually help the developer in question more or less depending on the game. Leibst created 3 games using AGE engine, España1936,...

Peace offer

Hi, I'm France and and started a war with Maroc in order to annex them. The regions I occupy are already marked as "France" and are in my blue color. Does it mean that as soon as I occupy a province it becomes my territory or should I negotiate a peace treaty and request annexion for the p...

Re: The perfect grand strategy game ?

Yes I was asking the frequency at which you have to play/send a turn to the host. For example if you play a turn per day, as a GC has 1680 turns then you will need 1680 days to finish a game, which is 4 years (!!) :-) If it's a turn per week, you will need 1680 weeks which is about 30 years :papy: :...

Re: The perfect grand strategy game ?

Well, if you guys don't mind playing with a beginner, we can maybe start to organise the game ? I was wondering how pbem works with several players as it's wego ? I guess everybody has to play it's turn in sequence (i play my turn, send the file to the next guy, etc) and the last player on the list ...

Re: Let's bet on the next ageod game

There won't be more games with the previous engine, unless people who already did some 'Third Party' games like Leibstandarte (Miguel) or Altaris (Ben) want to make more. I did not handle WSS, I hope the persons in charge will produce a patch in the not too distant future. Not sure to understand......

What about PON ? For example, could you easily arrange a 10 players game ?

Re: Should I stay or should I go ?

I usually allow the maximum % of RAM to the games. But I just noticed one thing that definitely improved things with PON and RUS (so it would probably imporove WON too but it's too late now, got refunded) is to change the compatibility mode to windows 7 (yes, I'm still running win 7). So admin mode ...

Re: The perfect grand strategy game ?

Well, on one hand it's great that PON had all these economic/trade/diplomatic/colonization/politics features and they make it a very complex game with a huge potential. But at the same time I fully understand why AGEOD abandoned all these aspects in later games and decided to solely focus on war. It...

I have to admit that I'm quite tempted by TEAW ... sounds really great. But have already so much to do with RUS and PON :-) And AJE and TYW :-) But the stuff is addictive, you always need more !! :-)

Well, not activated stacks have a brown enveloppe and locked armies have a lock symbol. My main concern was about locked ones, not the "brown" ones.

Re: Turn length 7 or 15 days ?

Ah ! Thanks guys. So the answer is "two weeks" but some mods/scenario can change it into 1 week ? Interesting ... Yes, my personal opinion is that the ageod engine is more adapted to shorter turns. For example, I think that 30 days (like for instance in TYW) makes very little sense. I hope...

The overlay colors are not defined in any graphics file. They are rather manipulated in the Aliases files. Just checked quickly at my installations of WON and PON. The are in the ./Aliases subfolder and named similar to ColorsAlias.ini or Colors_Terrains.ini. Find the file you need, save original t...

The perfect grand strategy game ?

I purchased PON years ago [2011] but never played it. In between I learned to love AGEOD games very recently with RUS and AJE. And PON is a RUS/AJE ++ with the same military accuracy but with a powerful economic/trade/colonization mechanics, I'm stunned ! Could it be THE perfect game ? How could I h...

Re: How to get a new download for my copy?

In my experience, sending an e-mail to AGEOD with the serial number and confirmation email has led to them being able to provide a new download link. It may depend on the individual game, but it should definitely be worth a try. -deguerra Thanks for the suggestion ! Will definitely try this :-) Not...
