I'd suggest too that you ramp up the AI to maximum and do the same for the AI Aggressiveness rating. But Searry is right, a PBEM match will give you a much more interesting challenge.

So now to my gripes, there had to be some right... 1, The endless chasing of a army, that is & should be dead, you sent your unit to attack, 2 days travel. The enemy unit moves & you waste like 28 days. So there should be a pursuit mode, where you can set the army to chase down the enemy unit, this...

Shortcut Key question...

I you select a force and press the Shift key, various lines in differing colors come forth from the TDM. I'm not clear what these lines mean. The Shorcut Key list explains that this use of Shift will "Display regions and nature of the links" but I don't know what that means. Can anyone explain? Than...

I use an OpenOffice Calc spread sheet to keep track of building <snip> I can put up a copy of my planning spread sheet if anybody would like one. I'd certainly like to have a look at your SS. Thanks for the offer! Also, can you make available the special font you're using, or tell me where I can ge...

+1.

It's the part of the interface that I like the least. It can be a real problem for me, especially in scenarios where you get 30+ messages in a turn, and I'm not lacking for screen space. I"ve got a stand-up desk and sometimes I wind up dragging the monitor forward to get a better view :)

I completely agree that a dedicated PBEM server would be ideal for these games. When I first learned of the partnership with Matrix/Slitherine, I thought that part of the reasoning might be just that -- using their server-based PBEM capability, which works really well for quite a number of their tit...

In the meanwhile I'm thinking of switching the 5% MC rule on. Without it, the role of maneuver and the map itself seem to lose a lot of their meaning.

But the 5% MC rule doesn't apply in AJE, does it ? . No, it doesn't, you're correct, but it was pointed out above that it is possible to change the game settings and put the rule back into effect. I have to agree with you overall that defeated armies do seem a bit too slippery and the retreat pathi...

I think it may be a weakness of the Athena engine that it cannot simulate decisive battles. I'm not sure that's the case. I can recall a game of WiA2 where I absolutely shattered Cornwallis's army even though I didn't have any great preponderance of strength. The difference was, or so I figured at ...

A nice bit of planning, Scott, and your graphics work is very thorough indeed. I hope you'll be able to keep that up through the turns ahead.

Looking forward to seeing this one develop...

Quick question: are these two versions compatible for PBEM play?

Thanks!

3-player PBEM question

I'm trying to organize a 3-way PBEM match of AJE's Mithridatic War scenario. Is there a description somewhere of the PBEM sequence used in 3-party games? The manual describes only a 2-player PBEM sequence.

Thanks!

How do you run BoA2 in window mode? I expect this is answered somewhere, but I cannot find it. I had that very question myself just yesterday. A quick search brought this and it works: Run the Configuration Utility [found in your Windows Start Menu-Rise of Prussia] Click on the Display tab Select S...
