Re: Problem with scrolling production tab

I guess I have never built enough new units in any game to experience this issue, so I tried to replicate and got the same outcome you have found. You just get to see so much, but not all.

Re: Command Point penalties

I am by no means an expert on the combat system of this game, but it seems when more than one stack is inside a city the system picks a stack to attack, not the whole lot of whomever is inside. So if you spread them out, you do indeed reduce the command penalty, but now only a single unit will defen...

Re: Importance of Processor speed when playing Pride of Nations

Once you have used the Options menu to allocate maximum memory to the game, you just have to enjoy. One thing odd about the games, different players have different games which run slow. For instance, my ROP and EAW games execute slowly. But one of my opponent's has a fast resolving ROP and a slow RU...

Re: Searching for a Multiplayer Game Partner

You may have seen chat about pbem which is another term for multiplayer. The short answer is, you make a move and send your game files to your opponent; then your opponent makes a move and send files to you. It is a nice way to play as any human opponent is stronger than AI. A bit longer answer is t...

Re: New to This Game, Not to The Engine

Always put them inside of Armies and Corps. Yes, planes and airships allow you to see better which helps in battle. As the war progresses, your fighter planes will attack enemy planes. So having fighters in proportion to your other planes is a good idea. If you have an active naval war, which most p...

Re: Command Point penalties

Whenever I play an AGEOD game I always seem to come up with questions. So I thought I would start dumping them in this thread in case anyone can answer them. Most are probably of very little consequence. If I have merchant ships in a shipping box is there any benefit to putting them into passive mo...

Re: Command Point penalties

Hi chaps, one thing I always puzzled about but never resolved. Are you better off defending a fort with one stack that has say a 15% CP penalty or stripping off 3 units so you have the main stack with no penalty and another stack of three units with a 15% penalty. Does it make any difference? I ten...

Re: Warscore issue

My understanding is that in historically absorbed regions, things go fine; but in regions not part of a faction's historic areas of interest things are designed to be difficult.
Holland is different. I am pretty sure it is 'protected' from being taken.

If you are running as an administrator, then try this. Save and exit the game every other turn. It appears you are having access memory issues which often happen if you are not running as an administrator, but as you are, just exit and start fresh. This will clean out any memory problems; and unless...

If you have a Matrix/Slitherine account you can access the patch on the "My Page" download section.
If that does not work for you pm me.
Oh, you would need to register your game if you have not.

Re: how to raise loyalty against rebel faction

Yes, usually France is the most direct country to play as it does not have too many compounding factors. But each power has its own challenges. The USA and Russia have so much internal development to do; while Italy and German need to unify. The Ottoman Empire is challenge as it is an Empire torn wi...

Re: how to raise loyalty against rebel faction

Welcome to the forum, though the numbers of active members declines, PON remains a favorite title for play. Use of units helps, a regular, not militia, army and police units help. One thing about the game which frustrates players is that it uses historical data with regard to loyalty and rebellion c...

Re: Decline of national morale

It is not scripted for British morale to decline. I am not exactly sure why your NM is low, perhaps you are losing units to being out of supply? Or perhaps you suffered a major naval disaster? I am not very informed about playing versus AI, perhaps look at your AI settings. If you have set them to g...

Hi spektacles and welcome, The patches do not so much make the scenarios harder as different, but different does mean some new challenges. The game architecture does allow for 'heavy' intervention; so good news for your game, but not recommended for the general player.

Re: Removing peace treaties

Peace treaties have a duration. Once entered into, you would just need to wait.

If it is very important to restored the treaty, my suggestion is to roll back the game a turn or two to the turn when the mistake was made. Of course if you have just played on, that may not work.

To play both sides, what you do it this: Make the move for one faction and save. Exit to the menu and enter as the other faction. Then make the move for the other faction, save and run the turn. Next you need to decide if you are going to alternate or always play the same side first. I alternate. So...

Hi SuttonWillow and welcome to the forum. That event has always fired in the games I have played. Let me look into if some condition is missing as I do not remember. That is a terrific question which maybe one of our number crunchers can answer. From what I can tell, Army commanders flash red no matter where they are; but only those within range gain the bonus.

Re: Commanding generals and supporting units?

It depends upon what you want to do with an Army. If just coordinate, sure this is fine. But an army's real strength is in supporting corps in battle, which your theoretical army could not do. So build it up to about the same strength as a corps in infantry, cavalry and artillery. And welcome to the...

When you did a fresh install did you install using administrative privileges? I am pretty sure this is your issue, but just to check one other potential issue, did you get to the place in the install where you add your key?

This message says you have an access violation, which means the program was denied access to your computer. What you do to solve is pretty easy, just select 'Run as an administrator' from the right mouse button pull down menu. This will give the game access permission to run.

Re: French forces in Russia 1805 - glitch or is there a reason?

Yes, WON like PON is best if a player plays all major factions; whether multiplayer or solo, in part due to the very elegant diplomacy interface. I would be hard press to choose a favorite. I like the simplicity of WON and AJE with their deep historical grounding. But I also like the complexity of R...

Probably where you are in the game, yes one at a time. When you get to organize armies, then you can use the command for parallel march and move them all by moving the army.

This is a huge question. I will only be able to reply in part. It depends upon the game. In games with army/corps organization I determine the armies primary objective and needs. Then I designate an organization points, for instance in CWII, Alexandria VA, Cairo IL and Louisville KY with smaller gat...
