Re: Rivers

I did raise this issue several times in the preparation of NCP2 : Key fortresses, be it because they control river crossings or access to mountain passes have to be properly implemented so that the seige heavy warfare of the era is well represented. Even key battles at the time took place where they...

Re: So.... When? When is the game comming?

I hope so too because the forum is dying as you know.. Some diehards who still play AJE or other games still come, but many many true longterm customers and fans pop by less and less... Sure forum activity isn't important per se, and I sometimes wonder if you wouldn't be better off just merging your...

Re: test

Hi there, if the test is indeed to check if we are still waiting for something, we do.... I have bought quite a few Ageod games, loved AACW to bits, on my top3 ever list, but since then have suffered immensely while trying to love your games with long turn resolutions and poor overmatched AIs in com...

Re: A Full Campaign played... two years after my first.

Very interesting and encouraging read. I want to start a campaign now, in that rather sandbox mode. If one does not play Napoleon as intent on unprovoked conquest, but instead simply wanting to safeguard his empire and extend his reforms/restructuring, will the AI offer a challenge? Will it force h...

Re: A Full Campaign played... two years after my first.

Nice, it shows one can have fun in a sandbox setting, but it also underlines that if the engine continues to work well for campaigning and battles all the diplomatic aspects, MC and supply issues, overreach of France and Spanish ulcer, etc couldn't get properly modelled and mean that the player can'...

Re: War of the Roses

The problem about the Wars of the Roses is that it wasn't really a territorial struggle in the way that a majority of AGEOD games are. It was a dynastic one spread over thirty odd years and the key factor was which faction won the battle and which royals/leading nobles survived or were killed, not ...

Re: New Forum lay out needed

We read you. Some of us at least! Cheers Pocus, it's just that to be honest it saddens me when I come here to see that the forum is really really quiet and I think a better lay out and a more dynamic general discussion part would make the forum a more welcoming place and lead to more players and ne...

New Forum lay out needed

I just posted a message on the "goodies" thread, but as a long time visitor I really think you need a new forum layout because the current one does the forum and therefore the company a disservice. It is too fragmented between games, There is no general forum to speak off since it is hidde...

Re: Goodies for the new year ?

So no goodies right ? BTW I really think this forum needs a new layout overall, it is too fragmented for its overall size and viewing base and it would gain from having some a more dynamic "general forum" opening straight away when one visits the forum. Otherwise it really looks if not dea...

Re: Recent Short Battlefield Tour of Central VA

Coming back from a visit to Richmond, going to the residence in Annapolis, MD. Stopped by the site of the North Anna action (Grant/Lee, May, '64) and a quick pop-in at Fredericksburg. Had been to neither before. The North Anna site is apparently maintained by Hanover Cty., VA. Some Civil War Trust ...

Goodies for the new year ?

I don't really know where to post this, and it's a bit of a shame that the general discussion forum is hidden deep in the entrails of the Ageod Forum, but here it is : It would be great to get some goodies, screenies, whatever we can get our hands on as a teaser of what is to come in 2017 from Ageod...

Re: capture of ships?

In battles, you can only capture ships if they are transports indeed. If you take over an harbor with stranded ships, you can capture some of them, particularly if you are blockading the harbor. There is no boarding party feature in WON, sorry. brigs and small ships get captured too. It's a bit of ...

Re: Spain Division Problem

Lowering max elements in a formed division could be a good idea. Or&and maybe also lowering command capacity. problem is that commanding a division costs 4 command points, whether the div is 12 or 18 elements.. 5 18 elements divisions is a stack of 90 elements (including 5 leaders) a 3star can ...

Re: Spain Division Problem

If the devs could do that small change, it would make a big difference. I have always found that having the old style divisions in this AND the new style divisions which are self sufficient units you buy off the shelf was a strange idea.. And the fact that in most case an old style division made of ...

Re: Spain Division Problem

1/ old style divisions that a player can build himself should be impossible in the game before reforms . Punkt. That way armies that are before reforms have to make do with the brigades they have and all the penalties associated. That would be possible, but I think it would leave the French too pow...

But make them smaller ! biggish 18 elements divisions are just way too strong in the game.

Re: Spain Division Problem

If there must be some old style divisions formed at game or scenario start for a preform nation, well the player and AI must know that if you break it down, you won't be able to reform it since you have 0 divisions allowed. This should be the simplest method. No divs before reforms, and the ones you...

Agreed, just saying that the practical event will help players mainly, rather than the AI, but it can't hurt anyway so might as well do it. To be honest when I look at this game, which I still soo soo badly want to play, I wonder what the beta testers were doing... there are just glaring issues Aft...

Re: Spain Division Problem

At the moment it does not seem possible to create this type of event. Even it was it would take a lot of time. It is much more feasible to go change the way the event works rather than restructuring entire armies. If possible both suggestions can even be implemented. The practical one first and see...

Re: Spain Division Problem

My conclusion is therefore, the Military Reforms should only be changed in that they should allow for either an unlimited number of division, or a much higher number of divisions, than is currently allowed. This would IMHO remove all objections and complaints about Military Reforms, other than perh...
