I understand that it's bad I know so little about culture and history of China, India, Mongols, Koreans and many other countries. But even with understanding that China consist of more than just Romance of 3 Kingdoms and Confucius I'd go play a game with some Caesar or Napoleon. RUS may be a very g...

No offence intended but your statement shows beautifully that European gamers aren't any better than the cliché you paint of North Americans. In your euro-centric picture of history you forget China, India, the Middle East and Japan (just to name a few examples) who all have a history rich in blood...

I doubt though, that NA players are only interested in wars that have been fought on their soil. At least that would be a shame as most of the greater wars between 500 BC and 2000 AD have occoured on the European continent. So I guess that you do not need a setting that is based on American history ...

Thanks for the suggestions, though I was more thinking about computer games. I very much enjoy boardgames, but it is hard to find people who are willing to engage in strategy boardgames for some hours nowadays.

Kingmaker was adapted for the PC and Amiga in the early 90s or so.

Well, maybe I was a bit too optimistic. Problem is of course that Ageod has to reach enough players to ensure the profitability of it's project. With the War of the Roses the risk might be too high. Nevertheless, the WoR is definitely one of my favourit settings. If anyone knows another game besides...

Besides the Punic Wars or even a 30YW scenario I would prefer a War of the Roses game. I think it is a very interesting conflict and most players of AGEod games surely know about it. The only strategy game with WoR as a background, as far as I know, is the old Kingmaker. Rivers, fortresses, differen...

True, though the map looks like the typical Paradox maps and they hardly ever change. This would be a pity, but surely does not stop the game from being good.

Sounds great! I did not play the first game though, as it had no Grand Campaign. I never play scenarios, they are too short for my tasting. Still, the era is very interesting! And regarding the looks: So true. I played close to all Paradox strategy titles, but the maps are getting worse instead of b...

Hya, got a question here as well. Do you suggest to definitely play the FY mod or "only" when you want a tough AI? Does the mod add richness to the game or is the vanilla version fine enough? I like a challenge, but I do not want to ponder hours over my next turn, because the AI is too difficult :)

Exactly, Richfed. That is how it happens in my games as well. But you are right, it is playable as you do not need to pay attention. Though I like to see the detectable Union movements and battles while the turn is being processed and I am used to it due to the Union experience :) @Durk: I hope we c...

Weird, weird. But this makes the game unplayable with the CSA. Turns take much longer and of course I do not want to see what the Union is up to :)

I only started to play 16RC4a some days ago. I played a full campaign with the Union and did not have that problem. Only while siding with the CSA.

Hi :)

Yep, did exactly as he told me. To no avail, first few turns are fine and from Early June on same problem occurs.

Weird, but my save game got corrupted again in early June. The turns prior to that point were fine, now I see only Union movement again :(

Ah, ok. Thank you.
I am glad that I was not too far into the game, yet :)

Does it make sense to wait for the final patch? Is it on the horizon or may it still take a while?

Hello,

No, it is and was checked from the beginning. I set all options when I started my first game with the Union and did not change them when playing with the CSA. It is still checked.

Maybe I should elaborate a bit more. The first game I played I chose the Union and finished it. Then, playing as the CSA, whenever I end my turn, the turn resolution shows close to every single Union movement on the map. Even those that I should not see due to the fog of war. This happens every turn...

Well, during the turn resolution phase, I do not see the movement of my units, but those of the Union. This takes much longer and is of course kinda weird when fog of war is enabled.

No idea how this could be solved, anyone? This is really annoying. I started a second game and it is still there, though as far as I can remember it wasn't the case in during the first 2 or 3 turns.

Thank you Longshanks!

During the turn resolution phase. It is very annoying, to say the least.
When I played the Union campaign, I did not have this problem and everything went fine (besides some grave AI mistakes).

Edit: Forgot to mention that I am playing with 1.16 RC4a

Enemy Movement

Hello, I have a problem that might already have been addressed, though I could not find anything via the search function. So here we go: I am playing the grand campaign 1861 as the CSA. The problem is, I do not see the movement of my units, but that of the Union side. Not in one turn, but all turns,...
