Re: CW2 suddenly stopped working?!

This what I would do. Install the retail version in a different folder to where it was, avoiding "program files" folder. Try running the retail game, normally, if still not working, as administrator. I guess there should be a log now. Hmm, i installed the retail version of the game in my ...

Re: CW2 suddenly stopped working?!

No idea of steam. With two versions, you mean you bought from Ageod/Matrix and then got a steam key? From where are you trying to start the retail game? Go directly to the installation folder and run CW2.exe Post the log file. I mean that i have both the Retail version from which you can download t...

Re: GNW. Leaders traits.

I think we could incorporate stats in this thread aswell. I start with one, the swedish general Carl Gustaf Armfeldt should be an 3-2-3 in my opinion. As he had great military experience from wars abroad as h e joined the french army for twelve years he was a great defender against the Russians duri...

Re: Polih-Lithuanian Army size!! OMG it is huge`

The Swedes were over extended under Charles XII, fighting for too long on too many fronts. Their quality edge was hard to maintain in long wars. Yes Sweden was overextend because there didn´t exist enough manpower to defend the whole Empire. But we must also keep in mind that Charles was a great ta...

Harsh weather units disappear?!

Hi! In my current pbem game i was building up a rather big force in Richmond, VA. I'am playing the CSA. But in one turn i got this message which i have NEVER seen before. Notice that the units where INSIDE Richmond not outside. Is it a bug or can this thing happen in cities (Big cities) also? Becaus...

Re: Polih-Lithuanian Army size!! OMG it is huge`

Funny reading all this about "nerf" the Swedes, "They are too strong" etc etc. What do you expect? Sweden had one of the most/if not the most well drilled army in Europe at this time period. The system Charles XI created during his reign was a system that many other countries cop...

Re: Polih-Lithuanian Army size!! OMG it is huge`

Good ideas in this thread but I wouldn't give a trait which would give attrition to Karl. Instead I would give him the old corrupt trait but with a new flavor text. Good point indeed. Now we have to see if this particular trait can be made area-restricted...if not we would make it general and Karl ...

Re: Hood's Division Missing Civil War 2

At Gettysburg, Hood was wounded while leading his division from an exploding shell, and Evander M. Law assumed command of his division. Is he in Longstreet's Corps perhaps? I think that's the reason Hood isn't in this scenario. ¨ Yes Hood got wounded losing his arm at Gettysburg while trying to tak...

In my very first PBEM game my opponent landed upon Memphis and bypassed all the forts on the Mississippi with Grant and the force was the same size as the entrenched force there = complete destruction for him. Never tought that it would emerge in to this massive discussion. But im reading and taking in the information everybody's saying. Re: Game still to unbalanced for CSA

I'am much aware of the superiority of the Union contra CSA when it comes to resources. But it´s the Generals that im concerned about. Sure the Confederates have good Generals in the '61 start. But as the game progresses the Union gets ridiculously amount of Generals with traits to train Millita/Cons...

Game still to unbalanced for CSA

Hi! In my personal opinion this game is still to unbalanced for the CSA in favor for the Union. The Union gets awesome generals with great stats, and traits. I mean CSA get Samuel Cooper for instance to train militia or whatever up to Infantry, while the Union gets like 3-4 Generals with the trait, ...

Has the beta testing started?

Hi!

I was just wondering if the beta testing for this game has started already?
Because i applied but i haven´t heard anything or gotten any mail or something like that.

So i take that as i wasn´t the ideal applicant, or that the beta testing hasn´t started yet?

How come when i try to register for the beta the Matrix site won´t let me apply, asking me for the password, though i write in the right password it refuses to accept it.
Think it was a similar problem for me and other players with the title Thirty Years War.

Re: Introductory AAR for Alea Iacta Est, Marius vs Sulla

Wouldn´t call the Caesar vs Pompey scenario boring. Perhaps if you play against the AI, but over PBEM and with a player who knows what he is doing that scenario can evolve in a interesting direction. People often complain that it is unbalanced and i can agree to a certain point. But if you are Pompe...

Year of the Four Emperors, To few Turns

Love playing this scenario as it offers so many strategies and options for the player. And i love to have multiple factions on the map than just standing fighting against one ex. Parthia. But isn´t the scenario a bit short? 25 turns to manage your corner of the Roman Empire, with all the rebellions ...
