Opened a new thread, attempting to recruit a new player to take over the OE and relieve Sir Garnet from his extra duties. Also added threads to the main PON forum publicizing the openings in this game and the new game. http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?28576-Players-Wanted-New-PON-Multiplaye...

Open Nations in PON 24 Nation PBEM "Conflict in Europe"

The massive and legendary 24 nation multiplayer game for Pride of Nations currently has several openings and is looking for new players. The main opening is for someone to control the Ottoman Empire. The game is currently in 1874 and the OE is in good shape, with a strong military, though the econom...

Also, China, like Brazil, can be fun though limited to play, while as AI would be more fun for the players as a whole as something to tussle and maneuver over. This seem like it would be reasonable. An ai China would likely be less powerful than a human controlled China, thus the major nations woul...

An idea for a possible house rule, that might keep national policy from changing too quickly even if players change. Use the in game relations to limit diplomatic options. So you'd have to have a relationship of +20, or whatever, with a nation in order to offer them an alliance. Or you can only go t...

We do one turn per day in this game. Assume that wouldn't change. Even at one turn a day that's something like 3-4 years to finish a full campaign. So anything less than a turn a day just wouldn't work, it'd be far too long a game.

Is there a stable, well-working one? One was officially released a while ago as a DLC, think it cost $2.99 or something like that. I think there were some issues with politicians not being properly updated and a few other minor things. Not really sure, I own it but haven't played it. Agree on the f...

Very cool. We can wait until we have a full compliment of players, then decide on rules, mods, etc. If you want Britain, I suppose I'll take Russia then. A couple of things I would propose for a new game would be asking an outside player to volunteer as a moderator and adjust our penalty system. Ho...

We probably won't get enough players to fill out the minor nations, as we have for this game. But if we can get enough for the 10 or so most important nations, that would probably be good enough. So as of now we'd be looking at this: GB: lukasberger Prussia: France: Russia: coolbean Austria USA: Jim...

Would love to. I'd love GB or Austria from the start. If we did so would anyone be interested in including some mods? For example whatever we could apply of NcNaugton's Age of Revolutions mod. Though I'm not sure where he's at with it, we could always ask. Or especially my own leader mod, the unrele...

This is the current version of the peace treaty, offered by Austria-Hungary which has been provisionally accepted by Germany and Russia, still waiting on the OE. luakasberger, ok. I will set it to AI. You know, everyone, just tell us when you leave... I always take notice of something not working when I don't receive a state visit reply... To be fair, I think he did tell Sir Garnet, who posted it on the Paradox forum a while ago, you must have just happened...

Sir Garnet agreed to for now, I sent him an overview and the pw last night. However he's unable to do so for long, we need to find a long term player asap.

As I wrote many game years ago, there are a number of Austrian grand strategies and barring a peek at historiy Austria would seek to dominate central Europe and be the dominant German power. There can be only one dominant German power so Austria seeking to curb Prussia is consistent with centuries ...

If the Italians were supposed to be keeping peace in Venezia, what were they doing in Trieste? Several provinces away. I think it's clear just who ambushed whom. Also pretty sure that Austria didn't "request" you to keep peace in Venezia.

Well, tbh, Austria historically was a friendly of Germany but only when Germany didn't have other allies in Mitteleuropa (kind of late in the era of our game). A Russia-Germany-Austria triple alliance (block) is quite weird. But that's your (plural) choice to make. But if you turn the rest of the n...

Austrian peace offer, conditionally accepted by Germany pending some further negotiation:

Grant Germany control of Erzgebirge (Karlsbad), Russia control of Ostgalizien (Tarnopol) and the OE control of Halaban (one of Austria's Arabian provinces).

Maybe it is better to turn AUS to AI for some turns, let it negotiate realistically for peace (warscore should be enough) and then give it away. Actually, I propose to always inherit a country in peace (unless for short term vacancies where the original player returns in a few days). This is not ag...

Haven't heard from Andras or Brian yet. Since dealing with the current situation for Austria is going to be a big job and require quite a bit of time and active diplomacy I think it's vital to get started asap. Cool. I do think it'd probably be better to wait and see what Brian and Andras have to say about the idea of my changing horses in midstream as it were, since they're the ones that will be most affected. If they're ok with it then I'll make the switch. Edit: Had said Vezina, Brian and Andras, meant ...

I'd be interested in swapping the OE for Austria. It might not work b/c of the war situation, my being on the other side and knowing alliance plans etc. But either now or after the war's over, I'm interested.

edit: I'd also be interested in the US if coolbean wants to take over Austria permanently.

Wow! Zombie Napoleon sure has some good stats. As an aside, I think leaders gain skill a bit too easily right now, we have a bunch of military geniuses running around that have stats that are reserved for only the truly elite commanders in the original leader db. Not saying anything can/should be do...
